This company has gone from bad to worse in the past several years. I don't know any people who are still happy and satisfied with their job. Yes, being laid off came as a shock to me but now that I've had time to think about it, I'm better off. I wanted to leave for a while but I was too chickenshit to actually leave on my own. Now I can actually move on and hopefully land in a better place.
To those of you still at Pembina, good luck! I hope things improve soon.
Hope you find something soon. The havoc that followed cuts was all too avoidable. Looks like people were arbitrarily chosen without any input from those who know how the operation runs.
Its painfully apparent that Pembina is an accounting firm that moves oil on the side.
Don't feel bad at all for not leaving sooner. Many of us bought in to the shifty family-like culture and strangely felt an obligation and devotion to stay... Coming in early, staying late. What is lunch? Working from home (pre-covid). It was all for nothing. Hopefully current staff see through it all.
I would venture to say that 25-30% of Calgary staff would leave Pembina tomorrow morning if they found a job that was comparable or better. The whole Pembina loyalty thing is a giant farce and the last internal employee survey highlighted a very unhappy workforce. The people I still chat with are demoralized and work is now just a pay cheque for them. No more unpaid overtime. They are also spending time networking externally and updating their CV all on Pembina's dime. It's great that the world gets to niw see what people think of Pembina Pipeline Corporation.
