Thread regarding Enterprise Rent-A-Car layoffs

I really need to know

Now I’m sure no one will no because clearly this company doesn’t even know, what’s their end game plan here? I guess I’m trying to still process how a company who has the money couldn’t handle figuring this out better, livelihoods have been destroyed, confidence of employees that were wonderful workers cannot figure out why them and not others. I still can’t wrap my head around why they are selfish d—s who can’t see what their doing to families. True colors shine through this company has no values. No family values except protecting Taylor’s value of selfish b—s—. Very doubtful but when business picks back up and they come crawling back to employees they let go (which I doubt) I hope they get a taste of their own medicine and understand people aren’t going to jump anymore when they say jump.

They took from us as employees, took a lot from some not even in paycheck value, but as a human. Yeah it’s tough right now it SHOULD have been handled better by far, but I’m seeing all these companies who actually care about their employees and families, other companies trying to hire more during these times. Karma is going to be a real b–ch with the company and maybe they’ll learn the hard way, maybe not. I can tell you as many people have spoken up about this, this is the worse sh– show I’ve seen. I hope Chrissy stops being an entitled little b–ch and knocks off the b—s—. She is by far one of the worse CEO that will be remembered when she has her mental breakdown after realizing maybe she was ready to continue a legacy, can’t wait to see who steps up next

Hey Post ID: @6iaj+14P3rIWA, take the time and actually look through the post I’ve covered this on this travel industry. Your buddy Chrissy could have done a lot better for the employees it’s not even about customers, she waited too long to react and assumed something called a pandemic was only going to last a month!? Are you sh–ting me? She is a poor CEO surrounded by poor executives, along with POOR SCRIPT WRITERS.

Let’s be real here, it is the whole travel industry, but I can bet my a– that more than half the companies from hotels to cruise lines to airlines will come back faster than the car rentals. Many companies don’t go around hiring 1000 manager in training. You know what is that job even? Get an a online degree and become a jcpenny outfit wearing job. Ha!

I think it’s very unfair for you to come on here and I quote

“ I don't know what you all expect Chrissy Taylor to do. ...just snap her fingers and make customers magically appear out of thin air?
Yes, it s—s, but take a look around.”

Chrissy only snaps her fingers for everything that benefits her. I hope everyone who has been done dirty by the company will rise up, and find something that truly makes you happy and even though one dumb b–ch who can’t have healthy balance sheets, who can’t save the companies money for the bad times have destroyed many lives, it won’t last long you’ll all find another job that will make you much happier in the long run.

So I’m still trying to figure out who the f— still wants to stick up for this sh– show of a business but there’s a small percentage, I wish you this best if you stick up for them and still have YOUR job, but don’t come on here complaining that it’s not really Chrissy fault because she’s is suppose to be your leader she has failed, and guess what? Her reputation will always be remembered how she jumped the gun. How many more f—ing cars did she buy last year? Did she actually have too when her company had a surplus of cars she couldn’t get rid of!?!

Side note: WHO BUYS A USED RENTAL CAR, we all know they get the worse care, sh– beat out of them, etc. nobody wants that car. I know some people have to purchase them but their so over priced to make up for her sh–ty company.

Literally just stop making excuses for Chrissy and Enterprise and just man up and feel sorry for everyone who worked their a–holes off for a company who just f—ed them in the a–. She ruined it, Jack Taylor is rolling in the grave so much he’s dizzy, and I’m not saying he’s perfect either.

I worked for enterprise for 5 years and was a flagship branch manager before I left 7 months ago. Honestly leaving was the best thing I could have done. I spent years working 50-60 hour weeks, with the minimal amount of support from upper management. They have a cult mentality and brainwash you to believe that you can’t be successful if you go to another company. The stress you deal with daily is absurd! There are times you are expected to run a branch with almost no cars or nothing but pick up trucks and still somehow have a 85+ customer service score. The area managers response: “ make it work” On top of that your always chasing down accounts and customers for money. I left because I realized that they don’t care about their employees and it was a difficult decision to make considering I was close to becoming an area manager and the job I took was going to have better work/life balance but I was going to make about 7k less per year but now with everything going on there I’m so happy I decided to make the leap. It is evident they don’t care about their employees as I have seen them let go of all the tenured department heads and managers since the pandemic and keep the ABMs and newer BRMs who don’t make a lot of money. It’s sad. I will say that other companies do recognize how great ERACs training program is and you really are set up for success for your next job. Hang in there !

I get that the travel industry is down. I think half of the problem with Enterprise in particular and why it hurts so much is they do not promote working their as a job. They sell it as a career and for decades we have all heard the line that they do not do layoffs. I think the other half of the problem is...at least for me...they provide time tables for promotions and salary increases that have long been unsustainable. I am very interested to see how they change the middle management structure as a result of this and if they finally give a realistic expectation at training that let’s call it 1 in every 40 people that work there ever make above 60K.

It's not just Enterprise, it's the entire travel industry.
I don't know what you all expect Chrissy Taylor to do. ...just snap her fingers and make customers magically appear out of thin air?
Yes, it s—s, but take a look around.

They will not be profitable at all this year... the fleet sell off will be brutal... all those cars are financed and they will be underwater on inventory adjustment

Im sorry about two incomes lost. I really think some of these threads with the negative reactions are so funny, these folks are standing by a company who as previously stated by many hurt many families. Two things if your being positive and sticking up for the “family culture” you still have an asskissing job, or your part of the big ol’ corporate daddy. I guess they don’t agree that Enterprise has done wrong to many people. As other post stated about zoom calls and higher ups laughing that’s enough of the fake family culture I can stomach, including how they are so positive and happy to call or tell you in person you have no job anymore. I’m sure this is going to start getting out to many news outlets if not now very soon. Enterprise thinks they fooled many people but we aren’t stupid. Good luck to all who want to think that everyone let go is just b–ching It’s life changing when that’s your livelihood.

I know it is terrible I was on furlough and so was my husband we both work for the same company he works in a different area than me but they laid both of us off the same day. It's really bad because I had to go to another location and work if I didn't go then I wouldn't have had a job I finally got full-time the part-timers got to keep their jobs I don't see why I couldn't go part-time then I would still be on furlough it's just not fair I don't know how they figure things out but I do believe that they were trying to get rid of me because I do have a disability that really doesn't affect my work in any way maybe I cost them too much for insurance I have not had a decent night's sleep since this happened and they say that we're eligible for rehire I don't count on it but when they need the help they will definitely call you back as a last option and they know that you are mad as hell and they treated you like c-ap but you need a job so you go back and they treat you like a slave.

Side note: It’s the whole travel industry... So Enterprise did not have healthy balance sheets when it comes down to it. Apparently she can’t handle a million dollar company and figure out how to save for times that could come around like this. It boils down to the great CEO and executive's that have their own interest in mind all these years before this. I’m all for patting yourself on the back but this is corporate greed at its finest and having “family culture” was never there. It’s not like they paid their ants the big bucks let’s me be realistic. There were plenty of other options for them to prolong furloughs instead of jumping the gun to layoffs...Early retirement, voluntary furloughs, and I could keep going. I’m sure if it was offered people would have taken the voluntary furlough to save their jobs. They just want to pay their simple severance checks and honestly this could be the way out of running three brands...Anyone think of that one? Maybe just maybe bankruptcy is right around the bend and the perfect timing to make one big old name.

This is just a BAD situation. Enterprise is projecting losses for 6 month window. Avis/Budget is more optimistic but they are projected between april may and june 850 million dollar loss and praying that July can be profitable. Hertz is on bankruptcy doorstep. Our rental car industry is just under attack. I been at different rental companies off and on since 2010. I never seen it this bad.

However not to get off topic but Enterprise "end game" is their expectation 2020 is going to be a loss this year. You got to think. This year company loss

Easter
Mothers day
Memorial Day
FAther's day.

They MAY get their first positive month in July with 4th of july..and that big maybe. See this time year is rental car companies make their money. If they are barely breaking even at end of July that's about all she wrote till thanksgiving. Right now rental car companies are on survival mode
