Nothing from Angela Brav.
Nothing from the Country Leaders.
I am lucky because I have a great manager who keeps me informed.
But I want to hear from our leaders, because I know that our financial position is fully broken, and I know then are going to fire us all but they are too ashamed to communicate.

Thanks for Sharing this it’s by far the best info I have had.
Today the Goverment is updating the guidance on Furlough and what that means, suggestions is that it will now only pay 60% however some flexibility around allowing people to make up the rest working part time so keep eyes open because today’s update is important for you, and wait and see them what Hertz offers.
But note to the Hertz leaders people expect transparency and information and your silence has created this page.
You should all be ashamed caught in your own bubble of self, you forgot what’s important people, people have life’s and concerns get down from your high horse and address them your reading this forum and complaining people don’t like you it’s not about you, entitled and ignorant to reality if you leave tomorrow no one cares fact, stop making this about you NEWS no one gives a F about titles or status it’s 2020 they year thousands of peoples lives changed forever and many people died, in Italy which you ignored for weeks was almost criminal, we won’t forget your ignorance.
so step up drop the pretence no one is buying it and start doing your job, starting with being honest, and stop blaming your team hiding behind them this is on you earn your pay, and for the record the cupcakes was respect ending no coming back.
This is Covid-19 unprecedented situation that requires empathy and understanding communication and care not a bunch of C Suite jellies, wobbling afraid for themselves and what they think they are entitled to, enjoy your full pay but we don’t agree your earning it..Hertz is a Company, what matters is People you just don’t see it.. blinded by self importance and status..
May to June extension was implicit in survey monkey. There was potentially a chance to throw a fit, but if original furlough was 48 hours, extension was rushed in less than 24 hours. Have a guess why Hertz wanted it that way and it sure wasn’t to give employees time to think and organise.
Reduction to 60% is not implicit. It is a significant change to your salary and financial situation. Provided Hertz tries to expedite, say “no.” Tell your manager if you get a call and put in writing to HR that you don’t accept 60%. Be prepared for some pressure tactics, but also be clear that refusing furlough most probably ends in redundancy.
The first letter that we accepted specifically mentioned ending or extending participation (which is why they didn’t need agreement to extend to June, in line with the government extension).
The letter makes no mention of the right to change the financial terms (e.g. from 80% down to 60%) They must get your agreement if they want to do this, as this represents a material change to that which was previously accepted by the employee.
This is a great thread - and it must be shared - I will do my bit!!! 🗣🗣🗣
Anyone reading this please share too. Let’s make sure as many as possible of our colleagues know their rights and can make the best decision.
For me the choice is simple - if given the chance I will definitely reject. After being conned into accepting the first time round I won’t be making the same mistake again.
So if the government reduces support from 80% to 60% then hertz will need another acceptance from us? They didn’t need any agreement from us when the furlough period was extended from end of May to June.
let‘s remove the noise.
- employment contract is with hertz. boris can say what he wants and change “stay home” to “stay alert,” but it is hertz that runs the show. sadly.
- the 48 hours between Apr 1st and Apr 3rd were devastating. we cannot change history, but the survey monkey “yes” to furlough with sketchy explanations and understanding of what employees were really agreeing to remains on record. another advantage hertz.
- there is absolutely no sign of rental business coming back. countries ahead of lockdown curve report same pattern. minimal and very local activity pick-up. no airplanes, businesses reduced to webex, zoom, skype or teams. tourism/summer holiday in country of residence.
3a. conditions that led to the furlough have not changed. you can argue the process and selection, but the furlough was also a company statement “you are not needed.” that is still true. sadly.
- looming chapter11 is a red herring. your selected course of action in UK should be independent of potential corporate restructuring. to be clear, company is seeking creditor protection to continue business activities, not liquidation (company stops existing, we are all fired and assets sold off).
bottom line for your finances and career becomes a combination of:
- how badly do you want to work for THIS hertz
- do you have and are willing to search for alternatives
if you want to stay with hertz, then get ready for a very bumpy ride. calculate well your savings because there will be income loss and no certainty when it will end. communication and employee treatment likely to worsen because the company will want to shrink the workforce at minimal severance. same applies if you don’t really want to stay with hertz, but alternatives for your skills and level are few.
even so, calculate if redundancy followed by unemployment is better for you. if yes, then find like minded colleagues and hope government does reduce from 80% to 60% and hertz follows suit. cancels survey monkey and allows you to trigger consultation and redundancy.
if you do have alternatives, then go. best case for you is to join the above group of colleagues, get your settlement and start in a new job.
Seriously if it gets reduced anymore it will be bad, and how can the ILT give them self’s back full pay while they are sitting at home silent..obviously they have plenty money if they have reinstated themselves to maximum pay.
So won’t be accepting anymore cuts I will come back and work harder from the Palace..
In the spirit of keeping UK/HEL employees informed...
UK government announcement on Employee Protection Scheme (Furlough) tomorrow.
It is expected that support will be reduced to 60%, but extended to September.
Government scheme may also be changed to permit working for employer whilst on furlough.
Will Hertz:
a). Top up to maintain current level of employee support (80%, or 60% if pay exceeds £2500 per month)?
or:
b). Reduce in line with government grant (payment reduced to 60% of salary, less if you are paid more than this)?
If ‘b’ then this is something of a giveaway than bankruptcy is imminent.
Take some comfort that as long as Hertz are taking the government grant they will find it very difficult to trigger a redundancy process, and if >20 people are made redundant then there must be at least 30 days consultation period. Assuming they remain solvent, of course.
Good luck all.
Goverment Advice is clear go back to work We’d, unless you can work from home, Furlough now not for everyone.
But drive or walk or cycle, wear a mask and your company has been sent guidance on social distance at work, so now what I’m assuming we will get all called tomorrow Finch is scrambling around trying to find out what this means so expect a call in Dec...
Go to the office on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister outranks a Hertz VP.
Of course the big issue (for Hertz) is when do the various EU Governments employee protection schemes end?
There is a suggestion that companies who are ‘open for business’ - and remember that Hertz never closed - lose the support as soon as employees are allowed back.
When government funding stops the poo hits the jet engine.
I hear Àngela has been at home baking 800 cupcakes, and you know what that means.
Just read Boris 50 pages, it states should return Wed??
So I called my VP 😡 he said they are waiting on guidance...
Everyone needs to be calling because have a bad feeling that no no Furlough money for us and if I don’t come to work is that going to be classed as Holidays now?
Also what about those WFH do they come or not is it open or shut..
She’s in Uxbridge? Is the office open? Has any measures been put in place for social distance working? Time for a visit to the office methinks.
She’s not in the US she’s here stressing over COFFEE..important things!!!!!!!!
Angela Brat must be in the US because.
- She’s invisible if not
- She’s Silent
- She’s waiting to F us all
- Someone else is actually in charge
- She’s no clue
- All of the above
Sitting waiting until the end of June we’ll from Wed it’s arrived and so will the employees be it’s my right to return to work..

Furlough employees will not get Furlough pay from Wed, only sectors who can’t open Bars etc..
So now what because Boris said go back to work guidance says if you can work no more furlough so now we will see.
Better get on the phone to your manager now or we will be getting screwed come end of the month.
And silence is disgusting this site is more useful than the useless leadership in International when is someone actually going to realise that we are being lead by a Donkey!!!!!
The International leadership team is quiet because:
A) they have no clue to do
B) they have been told by the US to keep quiet because they have no clue what to do
Nevermind the oncoming car, let’s just do what deer do and freeze when they see headlights. If we are lucky the car will swerve and not hit us (unlikely).
Hi Ho,Hi Ho it’s back to work we go, I’m assuming my desk will now not be rammed in to a space with 50 others..
2 meters apart one person in the lift at a time no canteen or ping pong..going to be interesting and the best piece is no town halls for months, we won’t be cramming in their all together...it’s appealing but now they can address WFH real time because we will have to rotate, no need for the 5M pound building. Happy Hertz HOLIDAYS. Don’t worry project one will fix it..
Following the UK government announcement it is reasonable that any employee of a proactive and employee-focused organisation can expect clear communication from their employer as to how they will proceed.
At Hertz I think you will get nothing. This despite the fact that Hertz has an active (ie not furloughed) PR Vice President / high paid individuals still working in the communications team. WHY?
I think the International leadership team have actually been told to keep absolutely silent.
Can we at least lay-off the PR/Comms team, BECAUSE THEY AREN'T DOING ANYTHING.
You can replace them with a cardboard cutout of someone with the excessive eye makeup with ‘SAY NOTHING’ written on it?
Alternatively, let’s all go the the office on Wednesday and see what kind of a reception we get.
Excuse me, Boris said I should come back to work, should I.
Wait still no communication on what’s supposed to happen..
Europcar also received substantial support from the Spanish government and Avis are holding a $400m rights issue.
Don’t forget that Hertz was 12-24 months from bankruptcy at its pre-coronavirus trajectory. And whilst Europcar was in a similar situation , they got the government handouts.
How exactly are Hertz leadership flat out in saving the company, I hear you ask?
I understand John Finch is in charge of lobbying governments, so that’s buggered.
And in the meantime we have managed to spend the last few years banning the term ‘MOBILITY’ whilst the rest of the world gets on with coming up with innovative solutions to diversify from traditional rental business (see the Sixt solution, and Europcar ONE), we have been busily patting ourselves on the back for implementing a express solution that no one really wanted in ONE U.K. AIRPORT. And it doesn’t work. BRAVO
It’s our destiny.
Europcar were nearly bust but because they’re French, the french government baled them out. Sixt is German so their government baled them out. Hertz is american but I don’t see much money coming from Donald trump. Did Avis get anything?
OMG I’m slow to this 🎉🎉🎉
So it seems our leadership are not massively respected, if I get this right Angela whomever is now known as...
Florence Cupcake Brat!!! (Senior) 👵🏻
Nayan who’s he? Has manipulated feedback and seems to be renting vans at ridiculously low prices.🧛🏻♀️
Doogal or Douglas has vanished or seems to be that way as no one know’s who he is. 🐶
HR have lost control OBVIOUSLY!!
Comms is Broken Double Obvious!!!
And Hertz Global is going bankrupt unless they can get $19.4B and somehow get travel back up and running to 2019 levels, ok I would say for many reasons not just Covid-19 if your sensible you have to know this ain’t happening.
But digging the drama while I’m locked up like a dam prisoner, this should defo be shared wider it’s a rap.🙈🙊🙉
Just to be clear, to ‘save’ the company they have to fire a lot of people.
Hertz in Europe will be substantially smaller.
Significantly reduced demand
=
Less fleet
=
Less people
So to be super clear, working hard to save the company doesn’t mean they’re going to save your job, quite the opposite. You stand a very good chance of losing your job.
Unless you work in pricing, in which case please sit around doing f-all as usual.
And also reflect that the hard-working leadership in our competitors have successfully secured funding - be it loans or government grants.
Hertz has secured nothing. In fact what Hertz has done is fired 10,000 in the USA and put as many as possible into government funded schemes (eg Employee Protection/Furlough in the U.K.) because they can’t afford redundancy.
As soon as various European governments end the support schemes, and depending on what happens re Chapter 11 (bankruptcy), then people in Europe will start being fired. UK first, because employee protections are limited.
So get your CV’s in order and start looking.
Declining the U.K. furlough would have been the smart thing to do...
Beepbeep I dont get it. How do they save jobs if they don’t save the company? I dont understand this stuff.
Zero communication from my manager. No wait, that’s not true. I texted my manager a few weeks after furlough asking how everything was and took my manager about 5 days to call me back to tell me that I should use my time during furlough to develop extra skills and be prepared. Prepared for what? If they want to reorganise why not just do it sooner rather than later?
I was given the wrong information at the beginning of the furlough anyway. The message that was given to me was that the company has put a significant number of employees on furlough. The acceptance we had to tick on survey monkey was merely to be able to process payments etc. At no point was it mentioned that it was OUR choice not the company’s. At no point was it mentioned that we could refuse. UK employment laws have minimal protection compared to the rest of Europe. I have a feeling a lot of us in the UK are going to be royally sh@fted in the next few weeks/months.
Heard AB WFH the question is what is home no ones seen her for weeks, never in the building and I’m in almost everyday, did hear she had COVID Symptoms her and Finch?
Managers are calling because they have seen all the negative PR and been told to call, heads down trying to save the company translated means doing a massive org - note save the company not people’s jobs..
Like the Road Runner more like head’s shoved in the sand with others heads shoved up AB a–. If you think she has the ability of knowledge to save the company your delusional.
My manager called me today to check I’m ok. She reckons everyones head down trying to save the company. They should tell us something. It would be nice to know what’s going on.
Is AB still in the U.K.? Or has she gone back to the US?
Louis Mari! What a joke.
Totally isolated. Poor management. Outdated vision.
A real cleanup with real leaders is what Europe needs.
Stop serving the old recipes in the hope of getting a new dish.
Oops completely forgot he’s there!
Probably not the furlough that means you don’t know who DM is is probably because he’s invisible and given he’s the CFO also silent..
Who’s DM? Been on furlough for so long brains become mush
Who’s DM? Been on furlough for so long brains become mush
It’s the Magic Roundabout that’s where we work??
Florence - AB
Doogal - DM
Zebedee -JF

The episodes just keep on coming and that annoying music, but no matter how many times you expect a sensible conclusion it just keeps going around and around and around.

Nayan Peshkar needs to go.
Liar and a bully.
I was also forced to cheat on the voice survey direct from Nayan.
Now that this is coming to light basically told what I had to say and write didn’t agree with a single thing but he will do anything to get recognition brown nose all leaders and then laugh behind them. 60 people will tell you the same thing..he’s Poising everyone against the countries and making up figures so he looks amazing, just watch the end is never the same as the story.: perhaps this birus will save us from the other virus that’s living in our building..Toxic Sickness.
