Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Attention Home Office

I don’t understand why home office hasn’t considered shortening meat the department hours of business. We are done processing meat and filling cases by noon every day lately. It’s such a waste of payroll to have PM block meat associates there to tell members that we’re out of product and have no clue when or what we will receive the next day, when we could all use extra hands in the morning to rush product out to the empty sales floor. Meanwhile rotisserie and HMS associates on the PM block can answer members questions. Meat associates should be scheduled in the mornings to get production done and cleaning done afterwards. Then have someone making a solid $15/hr answer the phone and answer questions with a scripted answer. “I’m sorry, we’re out of stock, we don’t know what we will have tomorrow, please check back with us then. You can try to place your order through club pickup but we cannot guarantee it will be fulfilled. There are limits on most items. Thank you and have a great day.” Simple, efficient, and effective. Problem solved.

Meat cutters are expendable. Just go to pre packaged meat like walmart and get rid of their butter knives

We don't go to other areas simply because when we are over worked and short handed. When we have a large truck and need help management and team leads don't bother sending anyone to help us out. Now that we are getting done early we find things to do in our own dept.

I work in the office in the supply chain and can tell you that there are active discussions regarding the meat going to pre-packaged . The reasoning is that it will be easier to control any potential spread of covid or any other future virus from just a few processing facilities versus 600 locations.
Sorry I know this isn’t what you want to be hear but this will be the new normal.

Look. You HATERS need to mind your own business. Talking about payroll when this company is worth billions.

The reality is you all are still mad that they got the biggest pay bump in the entire club. Cutters making more than leads and COS. Meat Leads pay rivaled ASM's before the 10 thousand dollar increase. Instead of crying and hating on us, pick up a knife, learn how to cut, snd maybe if the favor of God shines upon you the way it has with them, one day you too can reap the tremendous benefits of being a meat associate. Until then, mind your business, stop hating, and stay safe while interacting with those disease ridden members

Same here!! Easy money!! It’s awsome watching other people work while you have it easy and get paid more. Lol I gave up trying a long time ago. Take advantage while you can because the moment they don’t need you, you out the door. And the point system is off too???? You don’t have to tell me twice. Go draw those lines on the ground managers!!! Haha

What a bunch of lazy losers. We are suppose to be a team, help out whenever and wherever needed. I agree they should be put on the morning shift after all it is the hardest shift in the club in fresh including bakery. Maybe go out and help in another department after the meat area is filled and cleaned, it is called a job you might want to do it!!

We usually watch Netflix in the backroom with a portable projector connected to a phone at night. Not trying to be exposed to the virus for no good reason.

From a PM guy, that sounds nice, but I like to sleep in and enjoy playing games on my phone in the cooler while the rotisserie workers answer the phone. Who doesn’t love easy money and I can’t get unemployment so I’ll take the easiest shift I can. Our morning workers can handle the workload usually, and I haven’t had to cut a single thing since late March. Sometimes they even have the whole Meat room cleaned for us too!

Our pm meat cutter loves working after the am shift has cut all the meat. He says its easy money because he just walks around talking on his phone.
