To be bridged, you have to be within the severance payment period. Unless they change it again. They were still bridging 2 years ago.

PMT was asking for names for RIF. It's a reality. No dates given for "when" but figure June 1. They wont wait for in office. They have no issue cutting you over Skype.

Buckle Up

Rumor is they are going lift the 26 maximum on voluntary separation. That should free up 2 or 3 thousand positions in Aero alone. Maybe save the involuntary folks.

Is there a difference in severance package between in- voluntary and voluntary? Any extra benefits to taking a voluntary if offered?

I though they stopped bridging people 15 years ago.

When you get RIF'd do they bridge you if you are close to retirement?

Darius is product of GE/ and Cool aid school ( AKA Harvard). He is just executing notes he took in the class. So no rocket science there. Note leaders like Bezos, Gates etc don't come from these schools. These schools have in someways become anti-american, since there cost reduction and efficiency driven strategies are playing to India and China's growth, and at a loss of american ingenuity/talent/manufacturing etc. case in point: America begging for Masks and Ventilators!

When a company cannot innovate or grow revenue, the only solution is cost cutting to improve operating margin.

The part that is interesting is Darius and Que's strategies probably got torpedoed with COVID. So lets see what they conjure up?

The flip side could be that COVID might safe Honeywell from the disaster that the two were leading toward.

RIFs won't happen until they mandate you return to site, and get exposed to everyone who in turn has been exposed outside of work to who knows who else.

Then infections spread.

Then lay you off.

They touched on the subject during the Aero Town Hall last week, but gave no specifics as to when. Sooner than later would be my guess.

Ability to collect unemployment and severance varies by state. In my state it is allowed; in others, it might not be. Everyone should check their own state regulations.

Check facts before you comment. Last year, rif in Iowa, unemployment was able to be collected at the same time separation agreement was signed. The agreement was sent in to workforce development they reviewed and said do not claim that as income. So before people start a panic look into the details before you make a comment on what you think is right instead of investigating what the facts are and this could vary state to state.

@sii: Honeywell sent out one-time $750 relief payments to eligible U.S. employees to pay bands 0 and 2.

Does anyone know if there are severance packages being offered? With the economic conditons, just wondering if they are being cutback or eliminated..

Unemployment doesn't start until severance ends, voluntary or not. Most people's severance duration will outlast the federal $600 which is about 4 months duration.

Haven't seen any options to volunteer.
Besides, I don't think all volunteers would be accepted. Even after the reductions from not backfilling etc we still some weak co workers.

I'll look for emails allowing for volunteers.

Volunteer = no unemployment benefits: non-volunteer = $850/ week for 8 weeks, with possible extension, but at least 6 months of $1,000/month

I am actually looking forward to it. Just gives me a reason to leave a company that has no moral or ethical values to its employees. They can take the 9 behaviors and shove them up DA’s A–. No leadership follows these behaviors. They preach it like a southern baptist preacher, but they do not follow them.
