Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I will be repatriated to my home country, what's next?

I am currently on rotational assignment and just been told by phone that I will be repatriated to my home country (base) shortly.

Anyone know what's the path forward?

You were likely chosen for an expat position to achieve some manager's D&I goals.

You were chosen for an expat position based on your superior performance so you will very likely be offered a job in your home location or another. Chevron needs good people like you, not the types who work their whole career in one location.

SASBU is reducing by over 30%. You will be repatriated to your point of origin or personal choice location (if you had one) to wait for the PDC/selection event. In the meantime I suggest if you look at the off cycle jobs.

Thanks for the response to date. My assignment is with SASBU and my home country is US.

I only received the phone call from my department manager that my position will be nationalized.

There is no email or other relevant information received to date, hence gave it a try here....

Depends on what country is your home country. If it’s one where Chevron has departed from or downsized the operation it could be severance.

Are you from TCO? Right now due to COVID many rotators are being sent home and expect to ramp up in the fall.

However, if your repatriation was indefinite , then you were sent home for redeployment. That means as a minimum you will need to reapply for your own job (unless it is being eliminated or nationalized). as well as others in the fall selection event. The selection event will replace the fall PDC, but I don’t expect many expat positions due to the latest email from J.J. Expats are being scrutinized.

Those that were left standing in the spring PDC were allowed to stay for the falls selection event in August/September even if they were must move. This be a hunger games style with everyone as mustmove. Those left standing will be shown the door by end of October. No chance of waiting for spring PDC. I don’t think we will even see a spring PDC

If those folks have opportunities to participate in 2 PDCs, are they going to dodge the upcoming Transformation?

My understanding is that those expats who are repatriated will be given the opportunity to apply during the upcoming Fall PDC. Not sure they will be on must-move list or given another chance to try the Spring PDC again.
Whoever left-standing will likely be given a handshake...

You are being repatriated to your home country. If you are assessed not worth the money the company pays you in salary and benefits, you’ll be repatriated to your home—period.
