Railroad job cuts is nothing new. As a retired rairoader with 48 years of service I experienced several down sizeings in my department. Even to the point of doing the work of (5) people no pay increase and increased hours. This is a competitive industry in transportation. Employees have to chip in with management to keep going.
I have growing concern for all employees who have just started and looking for a career which takes 30 years to complete
Some of the problems are plain mismanagement and employee dis concerns about customer service. The bottom line is profit no matter what is shipped on a train.

I dont understand why everyone is so scared of management, there are so many labor laws that protect a worker, if you feel harrassed, file a complaint with the company, if you are retaliated against you can not only sue the company but also the individual who is harrasing you, just make sure you document everything and have witnesses. Management likes to bully and prey on the weak, so i guess dont show them your scared, or better yet dont be scared, you dont have to be.

When you make a safety related complain you become a whistleblower. Retaliatiting agaisnt that person is illegal. I know people will say management will follow you until you make a mistake and they will get you. But the reality is different. This is what they want you to believe. They love when you fear them.
