Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Layoff Package

Would be nice if the layoff package included a healthcare component, for those that have reached the 85 points, where you can get the same policy as active employees, as well as the company portion of the contribution until age 65.. 🤣🤣. Half the company would volunteer. I would.

You will have to pay for 18 months of cobra. Good luck with that

I was surprised when I was let go and started using COBRA for health insurance. During the severance period of 6 months the health insurance cost was the same as it was when I was working. When COBRA kicked in after my severance period, my premiums were in the $1,300/month range.
I then looked at Obamacare and for me and my spouse (combined making less than $55k/year) the cost was $450/month which was less than the Hon employee rate and way less (about $850) than COBRA. The money I saved more than made up for the increased deductible.
My point is: don’t hang around just so you can get health insurance. Look at an Obamacare policy and you may be surprised.

It would be nice if Honeywell actually paid and compensated its employees.
