Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

The furture of retail

Lets be honest and fluid about the current situation in retail alot of people lively hoods are on the line what does it look like. There has been a big push for us to use the tution program and the online options that are availble to us. Will work WFH become a permant thing. Will we be closed Sundays. What will commissions look like go forward. We need to know what things are going to look like for going forward and need to stop being given the same answer that its a fluid situation we are not plumbers.

Can’t have a 2nd wave if you never come down from the first wave

It’s hard to determine what retail will look like until the covid passes. They aren’t going to reopen and go back to BAU just to close again incase another wave hits.

Debating if they are gonna cut jobs or whatnot is a waste of time and it’s all speculation

I would work on a plan to exit retail.

I think the OP was just voicing normal concerns or questions. And hourly and at risk commission are the normal standard of what we expect to make. There were people in my store who made 3-5k commission checks regularly. I was not one of them but it happened. So the extra $1200 stimulus check really doesn’t make up for only making your at risk for now 3 months. I know reps who have taken a major pay cut and you never know someone’s personal financial situation or what other bills they may have (medical etc.). I think everyone could be a little more kind. There is a lot we don’t know and asking questions aloud and voicing concerns is normal.

Yeah I was wondering if they would keep stores closed on Sundays. It would make sense since they pay us 35% more hourly on Sundays( at least in CA).
