Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Congrats to the new bottom 10% and block 5s

The bottom of the barrel and a bunch of block 5s will get RIFd.

Now there’s a fresh crew to PIP.

Welcome to the Class of PIP solid 5s.

There will be less room for the upper L. Some of the top performers are no longer top even if they work just as hard.

That place is brutal!

Anyone that thinks they are immune from a PiP is dilusional.

Someone can be productive for years then get a new manager...then PiPed.

Yep, new manager wants to bring in their loyal posse from a prior position. Or, their dominance is threatened by an experienced subordinate.

It is a ruthless process and HR watches it happen with impunity. Shame on those cowards. Shame.

The concept of the PIP process was conjured up by truly evil and disturbed minds. Those that perpetuate this evil (Exec. Leadership,Managers and HR) also suffer from this same mental illness. PIP should be used only as a tool to help guide a poor performing employee. I have seen top performing talent get blindsided with an unjustified, unsubstantiated PIP, one quit the following week and went to work for a competitor, another one, who used to be highly motivated, now does the bare minimum.

They made it easier by making staff counts bigger. Just make sure you are under a boss who worked in your department and overseas a bunch of areas.

Any rating other than upper elbow is your cue to start job hunting and find a company that appreciates you.

I’ve always been a 2. If my boss came to me with a pip, I’d retire. Easy decision.

To the person who answered about the "s" - thanks :-) I thought maybe it indicated S for segments (like H, M, L) etc.

Thanks.

s indicates plural 5 (fives); folks who scored 5 in the 9-block rating system.

Can someone explain what the "s" means?

Thank you in advance.

Take a guess when the PIPs finally end...

When it’s just Executive Leadership left.

I would encourage everyone to think about how you should react to being placed on PiP.

Anyone could be blindsided by a PiP regardless of how productive or hardworking.

You said it yourself.

Minimum 10% go on PIP. Once they RIF the bottom 10, there’s a new bottom 10.

There’s always a bottom 10.

Welcome aboard the PIP train.
PIP pip pip pip PIP pip pip pip PIP PIP!

At the end of your PIP, tell your boss you want a salary increase and then accept your new job offer if they don’t give you one.

Turn that PIP into a Payment Improvement Plan.

Source please... In general very few upper elbows allowed. Barely few get a 2, few 4s, 5 is general across the board and minimum of 10% of specific department under a director go on PIP.
