In a sick and lazy way, I kind of see your point about “MONEY FOR NOTHING”.

However, I like to look at it from the perspective of getting a “buffer” or delay from the inevitable because with all the mess going on in our economy it will NO DOUBT be difficult to get equivalent employment in the foreseeable future with the pain energy companies are going through.

Being thankful for the help unemployment provides and working hard to get back to work sooner than later will serve most of us best!

God bless everyone who is dealing with this. I hope things pick up soon. It’s a shame that there are people who get on this site and just make ridiculous comments that just upset people more. Real winners

Yeah, this isn't anything to be happy or gloating about. You think this funny? Who made who here? Hundreds of applicants for ONE job, and the jobs that ARE available are about HALF of what they were before this happened. It's certainly a employers market. If you don't have a college degree is even worse. We'll talk to your happy arse when the extra money runs out and you CAN'T find a job. I'd much rather still be employed.

The extra money is only for 4 months. Unemployment insurance is about half of what your paycheck was. Hardly no one is hiring and competition for jobs will be crazy. You will have to face reality sooner or later. No, getting laid off at a time like this is NOT a good thing. Looking for a new job is always hard work. I have been through 2 layoffs in my career.

You're only making more because health and taxes aren't taken out. Don't worry. They'll get you next year on taxes. Hopefully you don't get sick while sitting at home.

In the time of Covid-19 i doubt he hired on anywhere when people are laying off. Wait, double the money he said for sitting home.....ah yes, he signed up for unemployment.

Absolutely went from making a little under 2k a month to making a little under 4K a month now so yeah I’m enjoying this time off with the family and getting bills paid off in full. So getting laid off was a blessing of sorts.
