Some people posting on here are id–ts. Full-Timer from SWSA, email confirms that we are being temporarily furloughed, although nothing such as job positions are guaranteed we are told to hold on to our work related property such as badges and uniforms. We are allowed to arrange times to pick up personal items if need be so no one is stuck without their belongings unless they want to leave them there. We still have access to our online work portal and keep our employee perks such as tickets and passes. Also told that if we find another long term job we just need to inform HR and it will be seen as a proper resignation that allows us to remain eligible for rehire.

People are losing their jobs and livelihoods. We don’t want to read your article that you’re advertising here.

Oh the worst is yet to come. No hard evidence to prove my thoughts, but I suspect when SEA begins to fill positions, hourly pay and years of service will be adjusted to first year employees.

Notice sent by email. Temporary furlough but position not guaranteed. Last day for insurance is the 31st and they have link for Cobra. No mention of cashing out accrued benefit time.

Looks like all hourly people were let go first and the salaried leaders remain.

Nothing guarantees the people posting are employees. News outlets should be more responsible than just reporting sh– that people post in an anonymous site like this. If she is going to vet the people she’s reaching out to that’s one thing but I’ve yet to see the sentinel do that when they’ve used this site in stories previously.

Sounds like a good reason to unionize. The union is getting Disney hourly paid.

Real sources???????? So the employees working there aren’t real... Nice comment, corporate a-hole.
Someone posted it last night and today it happens. Can’t get any more real than that.
You have a leak!

Does this apply to all types of employees...PT, FT, and salaried?

The Orlando sentinel should find real sources. It’s lazy and irresponsible journalism to report on what anonymous users post here.

Most of the employees have been loyal and hard working thru all of the BS over the years. It’s so sad.

Orlando Sentinel-the public should only know the half of what goes on at SeaWorld. They’d be shocked at how the employees are treated by the egomaniac who is really running the company.

I'm a writer at the Orlando Sentinel. If you want to give me a call and let me know what's happening, I'd love to listen. 407-271-9202. grusson@orlandosentinel.com Are the furloughs for all departments? Part-time and full-time?

I wrote this earlier ...

We wouldn't want them to have to pay for any employee benefits now! That would go against bottom line for the investors.

Heard that its a temp layoff not a furlough furlough would involve us being able to keep our health insurance

My favorite part is that they are waiting until 4:15 PM Eastern standard time to announce it… Just after the stock market closes. Tactical cowards.

Wouldn't an indefinite let go be... a layoff? Not a furlough...
