No, under the terms of the contract, employees with job security cannot be either furloughed or laid off. I’m not “entitled”, I simply have a contract.

With that being said, they lay off people all the time, virus or not. Will this pandemic be an excuse to lay off more? Perhaps.

The C-Suite should absolutely take pay cuts to preserve jobs.
If they get any gov’t corona $$, they have to give up raises and bonuses only. Which means, if they cut your pay, lay-off your job temporarily, the gov’t $ meant to keep your job will be used to pay their normal salaries.
