Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Quarantine

We have several people in our store who have been told to quarantine based on their doctors diagnosis. They have not been tested due to the severity of their symptoms ( not needing hospitalization) and short supply on test kits and components. Whole Foods has denied all of them the PTO coverage for two weeks, even with doctors note.
So, basically WFM should have said if you're not in the hospital or one of the lucky ones who can get access to a test, you're on your own.
What have you heard in your regions/stores?

The recent change in policy was done so team members could focus on prime orders so we need them at the stores to fulfill orders for curbside pickup.
Do not even offer team members the chance to go home if they are scared .
We need to keep o.t. down so there is no proof team members are overexposed.

If dr says he recommends tm to stay home even without a test, then stl needs to pay tm for two weeks. But it has to be Dr’s orders. Leadership does not always need to listen to stl when it comes to TMs safety. Some STLs don’t know what they are doing because they are too panicked. Do what is right no matter who tells you otherwise.

We were told from our store leadership members to stop telling team members to go home if they feel unsafe since it makes team members not come to work.

Too many team members fear reporting symptoms in our store since store leadership declared it as fear mongering.

If the doctor’s note doesn’t specifically say that the employee is off due to COVID-19, some companies are not giving them the sick pay.

They should be allowed to be paid if dr’s orders. Stl needs to approve that and they should. But there should b some sort of documentation for either one.

They need a doctor’s note advising quarantine.
That should be all that is required
