Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Thank You Verizon for keeping techs safe!

Verizon is doing their part to help keep their employees and customers safe by stopping new installs and limiting techs in home visits. They need to be applauded for this, no other telcos have taken this action. Thanks again for keeping me and my family safe!

No layoffs for union employees. They are to valuable to the network. Verizon knows their worth.

The employees are getting battle pay, they deserve it. Union employees were there for 9/11 and the world trade center bombing and many other disasters. Now they are there for the pandemic. Great union job.

There is an anti union virus on this site. Like covid -19 you have to live with it for awhile. It started with bat droppings.

I suspect the OP had a hidden agenda in that silly post, that of provocateur, but the rank and file didn’t fall for it.

Yikes, I work on salary so my day doesn't start and end on a fixed schedule. It is how things work in the college educated, highly compensated white collar world. No need to punch in and out like a slave while I work from home in my sweats.

Now get back out there minion and don't forget to cough in your elbow while you string those wires.

My bonus better be 100% or better this quarter, no excuses no slacking.

Yikes. Apparently no work to be done in that you post here all day during business hours.

Why stop with naps? Go out on disability and then be considered a top performer in your backwords world. Doesn't the CWA hand out a plaque for that?

For the record, I was about to take my daily (paid) afternoon nap
I will double it today to make up for your rude insinuation, and Saturday, I’ll drive around Heroically avoiding any work whatsoever to compensate for your disgusting attitude.
Frontline heroes... that is the funniest damned thing I’ve heard in years.

No tech has ever written “thank you Verizon”
This was some manager’s happy pills kicking in.
Yes they stopped installs. Yesterday. Which is a month too late right?
At least they close entire garages if one person turns positive. That’s a lot of paid weeks off.

Not when they are in a cramped apartment home with a spouse and small children present while a complete stranger is inside doing the work. And trust me I am no fool - out of work due to shutdown - not working from home because his business or company was paying for it..

There are plenty of covidiots who are inviting techs into their house because they got a postcard from the cable company for a "deal" and having them rewire and install equipment, go from room to room inside their homes. Probably the same people who want their food delivery left on the porch but will have Directv installed the next day

you do realize the reason why customers do that is to have this 2nd internet connection billed through their businesses/places of employment as they are working from home. has nothing really to do with the supposed thrill of having a another internet connection

Post ID: @pbk+14nD8r6V

It's about time.. We have had some selfish (and id–tic) customers order a "second" internet connection during this time to "try it out" because they are home and have nothing else better to do (and its free). Putting techs and themselves (and their families) at risk. thank goodness this will put a stop to nonsense like this.
