Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Furlough is coming

Obtained following draft letter from senior leadership...

Thank you for your continued commitment to Charles Schwab and our mission during this unprecedented time. We know that the uncertainty has not been easy, and we are doing everything we can to keep you safe and informed while also navigating the changes around the world.

While we are continuing to keep only minimum critical operations running, we expect to resume normal production at our U.S. facilities on May 4, barring any significant changes. Until that time, it is important we take action to ensure we remain on track to achieve our long-term plans.

Starting Monday, April 13, we are implementing the below actions as part of a broader effort to manage costs. This is a shared sacrifice across the company that will allow us to progress during these challenging times.

Pay will be temporarily reduced for salaried employees.

These reductions are 30% for Vice Presidents and above, 20% for Directors and above, and 10% for everyone else. These reductions are expected to be in place until the end of Q2
Employees who cannot work at home and have not been assigned to critical work onsite will be furloughed.

@zrz+14nSfMwe OP is blowing smoke. Read the article they literally copied it word for word. Prod support lines and code reds are not the same thing as "normal production in our us facilities". Even you didn't refer to them that way in your comment.

@1jww+14nSfMwe its not real. BUT most states have passed recent laws saying if you're furloughed you can apply for unemployment. If it's a layoff and a large enough one they have to follow the WARN ACT but you aren't automatically entitled to a severance package and if things get really bad they don't have to give you one.

I have a doubt for you all. Say this furlough is real. The doubt I have is will we still get a severance package. Will we be required to do the needy? Any insights would be appreciated.

You understand the OP is talking about "production" support lines. Code reds? We've been slammed with code reds and production support lines multiple times a day due to the insane market volumes.

Lol i see you've been reading TSLA news...why do people troll so hard on this site. Schwab already has 90% working from home this would not help and if they did... they would have the creativity not to copy the letter word for word from Musk because we are not a car company and don't have "normal production in our facilities"
