Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Health Screenings

Health screenings for workers before starting work is for liability. It's not to protect us from each other. If they cared about us, they'd be protecting us from the members. Name one company that is doing less to protect it's workers than Sam's Club. Go ahead, I'll wait.

I think the “screening” should be done in a semi private area such as the room by pharmacy. I’m not a mgr and I’m the one doing the screening!! Not to mention we have nosy associates that stand 6ft away and can hear everyone’s answers and if the tested associate is sent home, everyone seems to know! We just started testing this past week and the questions have changed 3 times! Covid 19 has been talked about and around for how long??!! Essential purchase is patio furniture and TVs?? Ridiculous!!!

Do you feel safer because of the screenings? Of course not. The biggest threat to us is the members that no one will control for us. Not the government, not the company. It's a free for all. Today, a member's most essential need was a trampoline. I can't make this up. Publicizing two weeks pay if you are told by the government or Walmart to quarantine is LAUHGABLE!!! It makes it look like they are doing the right thing, with zero risk. Hold your breath if you think this will ever happen!! It's the same with the screenings for workers— it looks like they are doing something, and the worker receives ZERO protection from members. Just come on in and roll the dice. $300 before taxes is the right thing?? Plus ZERO protection from, or zero control of members?? This company comes in DEAD LAST, pun intended, in doing the right thing.

I know right! I mean, taking a temp with an infrared thermometer is so invasive. I’m violated to a level I’ve never felt before. I smell a mean dump coming on. Gotta go bro.

They take ours in tire and battery right next to the membership line.

They should not be taking your temp where anyone can see or hear. There is plenty of places in the club they can do this just sounds like your CM is most likely more concerned about sales then his employees. You need to take this higher up.

So one of the assistant managers just took my temperature right infront of the line of members waiting to leave the store. My question is...shouldnt it be done in a semi private setting? Maybe im wrong and maybe its just me but i am a private person and felt very odd having a bunch of people watch this. And what if i did have a fever? Thw whole crowd would get to hear him tell me i had to go home? Is this how its supposed to be done?

So true. If they cared about us, they would stop selling non essential goods: jewelry, clothing, etc. Also, they wouldn't force cashier/runner combinations.

Ever think about how this pandemic is the best thing that could ever happen for the Walmart company. Their one of the few stores left open in most places.

They could care less if we die, they're putting everything in place to hire new employees to take our places.

These are the types of things that happen once a lawsuit is filed in the lawsuit they asked for OSHA to investigate so they are trying to act like they are doing something it is to late after people start dying.
