2020 Performance Management

Is anyone else having a problem with many vague directions for goals in 2020? Have they changed numerous times already this year? It seems like supervisors, at least in my chain, are scrambling to look like they are doing something in this transformational year. It looks like it's going to get worse as they roll out the org charts. Is there any point in trying to accomplish any of the goals? There will be a shift in focus come October. Good luck out there.

@2nfa, you should emphasize "cupcake" more when you look in the mirror and talk to yourself, dear. Go ahead, try it again and with more emotion now, sweetie, lol!

It is a Gold mine system to perpetuate BS organizations such as SCM with intangible results but eloquent “value generation” remarks. If metrics are not driving performance, how does CVX drives accountability?

How can Chevron ask it’s own employees to write a “We Lead” goal that means anything beyond the words, when Chevron itself is never an industry leader or significant innovator? It’s a follower, late adopter of ideas and only mimics the lexicon of other companies. What a facade.

They took the worst part of the old system and made it the cornerstone of the new system. Good grief.

Yes! Hard to write “We lead” goal when you don’t know if you will be led to the door!
