SoMa Store to Begin Online-Only Period, Focusing Exclusively on Delivery Orders

As we face challenges associated with COVID-19, we are introducing a new process that will allow us to serve even more customers in our communities. Starting today, our SoMa store in San Francisco, CA, will reserve select hours for grocery delivery orders. After 1 p.m. PDT, the store will close to the public, converting into an online-only store focused exclusively on delivery.
The store will remain open to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PDT, and customers who wish to shop during the online-only period will be directed to other nearby Whole Foods Market locations. Senior customers and Team Members can continue to shop from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. PDT, before the store opens to the public.
“We are eager to implement this new process, which will allow us to better serve our community during this critical time,” said David Cosper, Northern California Regional Vice President. “Reserving select hours for an online-only store will help us meet the increased demand for online grocery shopping.”
During the online-only period, some Team Members will shift exclusively to fulfilling delivery orders. The store’s Team Members will receive training and guidance on fulfilling online orders.
