Layoffs today. Managers found at 10am. They had no input

Looks like we’re hiring for positions we terminated in April.
Idk. Has anyone company had two layoffs related covid? LinkedIn layoffs were mostly to recruiters and sales which is because companies are hiring.
Looks like software industry layoffs aren’t over, LinkedIn just laid off close to 1,000 employees. I wonder if we’ll have another round before the end of the year.
Not surprised since labs did away with QA a couple years ago. Plus with the offshore engineers making changes to the code, can’t see the issue getting better. Services could be offshored next!
Services needs to stay caffeinated. Issues are going a week before getting a response and customers are PO'd.
Why don't they bring back an engineering manager that was laid off? At least 3 were laid off

We are hiring for an Engineering Manager!
Basically every new executive is from SAP, where the ceo used to work before
They are still interviewing a lot more so there could be 50+ hlab engineers. So messed up
They brought in a lot more off shore engineers than I expected. Close to 25-30 now
Anyone on services side know how the company is doing? People don't post on yammer anymore about sales wins so labs has no idea what's happening
@ UseanIPBlocker
You guys drinking a lot of coffee over there huh? In labs we live on it. Can't blame services for wanting answers, outsourced support is standard practice everywhere call centers and help desks exist. Level 1 support at least.
And you're right, blockers are the only way to travel these days.
FYI they are interviewing a lot of engineers for the India office
Nah I think the board blocks ip address if you break their rules like bad language or using someone's name
We've all been busy mandatory caffeinating in services. This board has also been blacklisting IPs for people who give away too many company details. That's how you know the rumors on here were rock solid. Most likely at the request of iCIMS to block the truthtellers. Which is stupid. It's not the early 90s people have multiple devices that connect to the internet these days you know.
I’m not in Labs so I have no knowledge, but that’s the only area I could see more layoffs happening as they inevitably move more positions overseas. The rest of us will just continue to get pay cuts. Customer Success has already gotten two this year.
Really worried another layoff is going to happen next year
I know a bunch of software engineers that are preparing to leave once companies start hiring again.
Probably the same for other departments
I can’t wait to rage quit from this f—ing b—s— company
Who else has any rumors? I heard they are going start hiring tech support in India. They are also hiring a lot of engineers in India too
Hope not. This was a good place to get rumors
Is this thread officially dead?
I wish we could see the actual upvotes and down votes on those posts. Want to see if people care about the diversity stuff or not.
You can't say you're against that stuff in real life or you'll be called a racist
Who tf cares about anonymous internet points lol
Pretty obvious VPN and private browser refreshing with upvoting and downvoting. Just stop. Not funny esp last few comments.
Some of us find this site helpful.
Now just fake.
Especially when they laid off most of their diverse employees.
Lmao the most bs job is a full time diversity job
All this diversity stuff is super annoying
Someone told me phase 1 will start in September
When do you think we’ll return to the office? I’ve been hearing rumors about us going fully remote.
Engineers were always waiting for designs*
I think the cio is completely separate from engineering side. It's more from a finance side. It's a new position. I don't know much about it
Im an engineer in labs, and the culture is fine. They follow good engineering practices.
From a product side, the company is a complete mess. Engineers are always waiting for product to make decisions.
Leadership is disorganized too. Engineers were always for designs. Leadership laid off half the design department so that got even worse. Idk what they were thinking
Good benefits. Decent amount of time off.
Thanks for confirming re: CIO role. I’ve applied for the position. Can anyone offer any insight on current culture / atmosphere? Also can anyone confirm for me if this role is open because the prior CIO left the company or is it due to a re-org for example the CTO previously covered both CTO and CIO domains and now it has been split? I’m just trying to understand the real background and what the atmosphere surrounding the role would be if I joined. Appreciate any insight.
Yea it's a real opening. There's a decent amount of openings. At least in labs they bring back laid off people for open positions
So many layoffs / departures but on LinkedIn there’s an open role posted for a CIO. How is that possible? Is that a legit open role?
General meet and greet with groups of 10. Ceo is trying to do damage control
What are the meetings about?
I guess it's only labs that has the meetings with the ceo?
No but we have meetings with the COO in services
Anyone have their meeting with the ceo yet?
