Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Frank is miffed that we're all WFH

You can read between the lines when leaders address you; he's miffed, and I'm not sure he believes himself when he says "no rush" to get back.

I am not sure why he dislikes WFH so much; I feel like we've been pulling our weight and working hard, as many associates always do when they WFH.

I had wondered if he'd have a change of heart on the topic with COVID-19 but I don't think he will. I worry about my peers who are in small offices or whose lives would be turned upside-down with a long commute or a demand to move just to get their bodies in an office.

I just can't get it.

@9iuw+152cZUY1 As much as I'd like to empathize with you, a union isn't going to do it. Here is why.

The picosecond that anyone with any authority even gets a whiff of organizing efforts, the organizers will get fired and blackballed. No exceptions, no hesitation. They will straight-up lie about you to the unemployment office under the 'for-cause' explanation if they have to, and there are many many ways to do that which won't be provable to any labor board. Also Fiserv loves them some H1-B labor, and nothing will stop them from grabbing as much of that H1-B labor as Tata and Infosys will sell them.

Reason two, this is the tech industry, where even in the bottom of the COVID garbage, you can still stand a great chance of finding a decent job somewhere else and go work there for better benefits, better pay, or both.

What exactly are we supposed to be banding together about?

Fiserv employees! Help organize against this company. Contact CODE-CWA immediately. Can you imagine Frank and the rest of leaderships reaction when employees band together to take a stand? Support each other!

I was OFD and Frank hated anyone that worked from home. I saw so many talented people quit because they had to drive hours into the office. The best thing FD did for me is convert me to a contractor it gave me the motivation to find a new job after 20+ years. I am also so glad I work for a company now that lets me work remotely and doesn't monitor us with Sapience.

“How can that POS FB see anybody?”

By installing his cronies as well as Sapience. No different than how a mob boss controls his empire while in the slammer.

How can that POS FB see anybody? He is in a stupid over priced office that should be closed overlooking the Hudson in NYC. The workers who actually work for the clients are all over the world. This guy is the most arrogant POS and I cannot believe with all of his shady past he is charting our path. Disgusting. Shame on Yabuki and the board. As other posters have noted we all now work for the FB crime family.

Some leaders are control freaks and if they don’t see you in the office they figure you’re not working and can’t control your every move. It’s very common in boomers.
