Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Just in case someone wants to speak up

This is from the main RA thread:

Hello, I'm a reporter with Bloomberg News. I would be interested in speaking to anyone who has been impacted in this last round of layoffs at IBM. My email address is ocarville1@bloomberg.net. Thanks.

She’s not trolling anything. If the company isn’t talking and telling her the truth, she is here investigating. Tell her what you know! Expose them!

IBM's gift to employees before memorial day weekend during the most trying COVID times. Talk about timing it right! Even best performers are impacted...there was no effort to either time it right or manage it well to retain top talent. Speaks volumes about the management.

Loyalty no longer exists. Corporations treat humans as cogs in the Shell, as interchangeable parts. Experience is no longer worth anything. Matrix management by committees can only vote on excell results sorted by cost.
ROI in 90 days or less.... otherwise throw it out.

Don't trash the reporter! For God's sake .. she is willing to tell the story to the world! Applaud her for being here trying to get our side!!

The enemy is sitting in that in big building in Armonk checking to see how much his stock package goes up once Wall Street sees how many costs IBM is cutting.

We were caught by surprise. After exceptional performance and rewards- the news came in today about a layoff. Extremely ruthless of IBM to keep this a secret and do this to families in COVID times. If this was preplanned and not related to COVID- wish they could have timed it better for their employees. Most of the companies are on hiring freeze. Would have appreciated a headsup. Additionally, There was no sense to the layoff - the best of performers are also impacted instead of juggling them in other departments the management decided to reward the best performers on one hand and lay them off on the other. Why would anyone want to stay with such a fickle minded management? Advice to other eployees: save yourself and your families.
