Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

EVP requesting feedback

The feedback rich culture we are trying to achieve apparently includes JWJ asking for feedback on how to do better. Just trying to picture GLK asking something similar, that’s a laugh. I’m struggling with seeing such a degree of feedback up and down the corporation having more to do with leadership than popularity contests or drinking kool-aid. Aren’t I entitled to my opinion? Then again, I’d have to be a fool to post this on workplace. Leadership and popularity contests are not the same, where does dissent fit in?

They should have to read their feedback during town halls (similar to when celebrities read mean tweets). That would be joyous.

Why are they asking us, the unwashed masses? Is our credit with BCG no longer good?

I think you might have misunderstood, George woudn’t have pandered and consensus isn’t a substitute for decision making. Not all feedback is equal, some is c-ap, quality feedback makes an impact. That’s what George would have said, and this is the opinion I was referring to, but I don’t think it would be welcomed on workplace because it’s not a bunch of butt kissing. This is the dissent I am referring to.

Do you guys know where the layoff forum is? I think I have stumbled upon the Reddit millennial chat room instead. Thanks.
