Band 6 GBS consultant got RAed today

I’ve been on my project for five months last week I was discussing my promotion to SC with my manager today at 4:30 I found out I need to turn in my laptop tomorrow. My team is shocked to say the least they have given me great feedback and were excited for my promotion this summer now they have to find someone to take over my work and without a TS clearance it won’t be easy. This seems like a mess and unorganized from what I’ve been hearing.

You will have no problem finding another job because you've got your clearance, Clarence.

Wow to get rid of a band 6 probably making less than $80k with a Top Secret clearance is insane your basically free labor and always able to be utilized. You shouldn’t have an issue getting recruited by any firm that has government clients and go for six figures if you live in a city.

A TS clearance costs around $25k to process. Why on earth would IBM get rid of someone who they invested in AND you were billable to a client?
Who let this happen under their watch? Arvind and Jim.
I can only advise you to tell everyone you know, including your client. I know someone who was able to land another job with a government contractor that way. And his client cancelled their contract with IBM too. Best of luck.

Welcome to IBM where finance runs the world. Anybody and everybody is expendable. Move on and be glad it happened while you are young.
