My heart goes out to those impacted by today's RA's. Real bad timing. Has Systems (Power, Storage) been impacted at all?
There is life beyond IBM, believe me.

OpenPOWER certainly not "over" or "dead" - it's an open architecture now with several credible initiatives to build silicon outside IBM well underway.
Anyone in storage impacted?
Dump design, open Power, card design, support, TSS’s, AI, Etc etc. Who thinks Power is for sale? IBM will have to fire sale it off, Guarantee some sort of market share to whoever buys it, and capture IP revenue as it occurs. All of the cloud providers made hay with scale out Intel servers. Who thinks Enterprise boxes have a future? Who thinks Power is the new LINUX box? Power has become a legacy (OS/400 and AIX) replacement box only. Kinda like TV’s. Heck of job IBM. You took a superior technology and ignored it to death.
Is Open Power over, then?
This s—s, I really feel for my Power friends in Austin. Seems almost certain these are in advance of Power being sold.
it was brutal in Austin, not sure how Power will survive very much longer, entire Dept let go, PowerAI is gone, Open Power is gone, bringup team cut, card team cut, roadmap cut, not much left, they are setup for no more growth just maintain existing base until its all gone,
Open power got totally cleaned out. This was expected. China and Taiwan teams were let go a few months ago.
Systems (Power) design team in Austin got impacted.
