It is very rare these days, but I admire the executives who are good human beings and offer to not take a salary or bonuses when their company is struggling. I have never heard of executives at IBM freezing salaries, taking pay cuts, forgoing bonuses to share somewhat in the pain. Perhaps it is time for the new leadership at IBM to lead by example and show they care as fellow human beings. Too many executives are overpaid in this country and worldwide worshiping money and power rather than the common good. I would have thought the pandemic would have brought these executives down to earth and realize how fragile the basic sanctity of life is. Some of us had to really struggle to even have the job we have today coming from a life of poverty.

Executives are rarely good human beings. It's hard to get that much power without sacrificing a lot, and that usually includes part of your humanity so you can keep the boot down without feeling guilt.
Top priority is to increase dividend at all costs.
You are correct. Interesting that HPE is forcing pay cuts for its execs but IBM is not, at least not yet.

honestly, it's not very rare these days. But, it would be shocking to see IBM execs do this.
