Who in their right mind thinks that optimistic responses to MW's workplace posts are a factor that influences whether you get cut or not?
I certainly don't and I'm going to go out with my spine intact. Know your #selfwirth

Workplace, as a social media tool, is not the problem. The problem is the corporate culture and lack of trust. This creates a void and those with a lot to say but not much to offer in terms of value, fill that void with the nonsense and self-promoting posts we all cringed at before we stopped following Workplace completely.
Workplace is the most cringy thing I have read. Full of a– lickers giving Kudos to this team and that team. Look at me everyone I posted something on Workplace. The worst thing ever was the Thailand safety dance. What a complete waste of resources and people's time trawling thru it
I hear what you guys are saying but on the other hand if Workplace didn't exist then I would never have been able to hear the Kazakh lawyers sing their parody song! Completely flabbergasted that someone had the nerve to post that lol
Lame annoying people.
Why were you let go? “I didn’t use the internal social media enough.”
Sadly, that and how successful you are at embracing diversity could very well be true. Ironic how fake both are and how they make you view your fellow co-workers in terms of how many metric checkboxes an interaction will enable you to check. Pathetic.
Bravo @zac!
MW needs to show up to the next townhall in a black turtleneck and black jeans ala Steve Jobs and every other tech CEO. Maybe get an earring?
You know, since we're going all in on hipness and stuff.
The ability to ask Townhall questions, post workplace comments, in-house social media opportunities etc. are all a part of the new faux corporate culture of hipness, transparency and how much each and every employee is valued. Does anybody in their right mind believe that you can say/post whats really on your mind without repercussions? The nauseating a$$ kissing that occurs 99% of the time wont get you anywhere but it destroys any shred of respect your co-workers made have had for you and exposes your true colors.
Workplace is a dumb waste of time. A digital s— up site to try and be noticed. There. I said it.
Workplace is yet another ham-fisted attempt by Chevron's senior management to reach out to millennials, along with MW's deep embrace of "corporate wokeness". It seems like a hip and trendy emulation of Google or Facebook, but it really doesn't fit our industry. The same goes for all the "digital" nonsense too - we're anoil company not a dotcom. It only attracts bootlickers and yes-men, not really the feedback-rich culture management claims to want.
Anything you post on Workplace is tracked. They know your name, time of day it was posted, subject you chimed-in on, what you commented, etc. Now, are you going to leave all that you posted to some unknown person to subjectively interpret why you posted it, what you really meant, perhaps see something in your remarks with their own bias? Then they turnaround and report you or log your name down somewhere for it to play into your fate someday? Stay away from Workplace and be safe.
