I’m glad the execs get their money but what about the employees that they laid off they owe money to? Oh that’s right we have to fight them for it....

The execs all knew that this would be public info, and they still decided that despite the potential negative publicity it was a good idea for them to move ahead! So lets line up the facts:

  • Massive layoffs 20K people out of work
  • Revenue down 80%
  • Missing deadline for payment to creditors
  • Filing CH 11

Board and execs decide its a great idea to issue $16M in bonuses to top level execs.
Translation a big F— YOU to employees, creditors and Hertz!

I’m so disgusted by these jerks getting bonuses for running a 102 year old company into the ground.

Meanwhile there are over 400 job postings on the hertz career site... you couldn’t pay me enough to go work for them again.

How will this hurt the employees? Hertz is not bringing any of them back! The ones that are still there will be worked to death! And when they break down they will be replaced! None of Hertz' actions are being taken in the employees best interest. They are being used.

This is the dummest comment ever.
If course if all the clients stop renting because if disgusting behavior from management that will hurt the management.
Not doing anything just because it might hurt the employees is coward.
People need to stand for their values and stop acting like id–ts.
Actually Hertz employees need to stop investing their time in Hertz, look for other opportunities and fight their absolute rotten management.

You are so right. I control travel for 600 employees and up to now our car rental was with Hertz. I Just let my account manager know we are going with National here on out. Bye Hertz. PS, met Paul Stone in Dallas at LUV field. He gave me his card and said need anything call me. I did call him and you know what he didn't call me back. So bye to my $500,000 a year account. Will miss the ladies at DEN, they were super nice.

@You are all going to hell, if your company don’t rent hertz you are not causing any damage to the snr mgmt but to the remaining employees.

I am so disgusted by this news. 20,000 families laid off now trying to find a way to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table and execs at Hertz pull this! They hedged their bets as I already read they revised the severance package for the execs if any if them were to be fired they will have at least 12 months full pay! I cant change how these crooks act but I can control where I chose to spend my money. I will do everything in my power to make sure my company no longer uses Hertz for corporate travel. The company I work for is very focused on taking care of its employees and how Hertz is behaving goes against all our core principles. Hi them in the wallet! Spread the news to all your connections to not due business with a company that so blatantly works against their employees!

Hope they saved enough to fully fund that pension plan. If not, I could see this getting clawed back. May want to take that lump sum option right now if you can. If the PBGC ends up taking over it could mean pennies on the dollar. I can’t believe the BK Judge will be okay with this.

The management makes me puke.
Scumb_g$
In the meantime decent employees have been laid off...just 20,000 of them.
And the remaining staff will be given speaches on how bonus can't be paid, efforts must be made, raises are not possible in such an environment.
They will give us motivation words on how they care about the employees and that we are the best.
The best to get fuc_€d for sure!

This management team deserve a global strike. That's all they'll respond to.
