Keeping Aero waiting

RIFs won’t hit until Friday at the earliest. Most likely the beginning of next week. Marching orders are to ship and sell as much product as possible before wiping out the census.

My RIF was denied in Urbana. Got the email tonight. Only been there about 6 yrs. 65 years old. On my feet 10 hrs day. What the Hell. Hate to put in m 2 week notice, but I just can't do it anymore. Not k–ling myself for Honeyhell. Why bother volunteering if they gonna refuse you.

This week on Friday. My money is on them starting tomorrow. Sad when we have to be told to keep the focus and make revenue while this pendulum is swinging over our site.

Lots of folks will take vacation next week. Hard to RIF people on vacation.

Doubt they'll wait until next week but I have no special insight.

I'm counting on getting RIFd this time around. I'll take my pension, my severance and HON can get f*ked. Until then, I'm just hanging out most of the day waiting for the meeting notice with HR and my VP. I'll listen to their silly little script and then thank then for their time and tell me where I can get my money then I can move on at last. I see it as getting let off the ship in a lifeboat before it sinks. Who knows what HON will take away next to preserve the stock price.

If those are the marching orders simply do nothing for Honeywell and everything for yourself. Get that resume out, make it good, and start applying. Don’t wait to get the call - and yes, chances are you will get the call with the numbers they are looking at. This ones the real deal. I got let go last round and let me tell you life couldn’t get better.

Interesting, my director for Aero in CLW is in Mpls. They did the Rifs last time. Aero in Mpls is off next week. Their version of the week of CLE Aero gets in December.

@hvq If you are WFH you will get an email regarding mandatory meeting with skip level boss and HR. They will read the script to you in a telecom and give you a fedex number to mail in your computer. They will put your work stuff in a box and tell you where you can go pick it up. Volunteers I knew were told date of departure - same day, later in week, other.

dumb question. Perhaps someone that volunteered last time and got it can chime in. A lot of us are telecommuting because of COVID. How would HR/Manager/director whomever let the employee know when they get accepted. I volunteered last time and got the rejection email late that sunday evening after the wed deadline.

They need to hit second quarter numbers. Second quarter ends this week.

Just doing the bare minimum until RIFs are over. Either there's a red folder with my name inside or there isn't... Nothing I do is going to change that. No point trying to help a bunch of cowards who would sell you up the river to raise the stock price by a penny.

I know the game and now I just do as little as possible waiting for my RIF notice. In fact, I spend a lot of my day floating resumes and looking at job listings. This is 100% leadership's fault for gutting morale and making people not care.

Some say this week and some say next week. I wish we knew which one it is. I wish Honeywell would please at least just let the volunteers know our fate. I agree this waiting is tough. Last time the volunteers were informed amd they stayed until whatever date they were given.

It will be next week. The ALT wants to make sure employees do everything to bail out their sorry asses this quarter before they screw them.

All I know is I have put in for the voluntary and this whole waiting game while I am trying to line something else up is getting annoying. If somebody volunteers, let them go. The others are taking their chances. I’m not one to complain or talk trash but this long wait after having volunteered is ridiculous. I know not everybody that volunteers will get accepted but they could at least let us know whether or not we were accepted. We are carrying this irritation to work with us and it’s by no means motivating us to work harder.

I don't think it's made people work their asses off... Motivation has plummeted, no one feels safe after seeing how the last RIFs went. High performing Operators and Engineers got let go. Why would people want to work hard when it appears it doesn't matter? Terrible "strategy"

The director has spoken. Great tactic to announce rif’s 2 weeks before quarter end to make sure everyone works their asses off only to get the wave next week.
