Between the virus and oil prices UOP got hit by a class 5 hurricane. Hope to see it rebound as it provided well for my family.

I left voluntarily on 6/5 for a better job and organization. Hopefully I saved someone recently, but please give me hope by updating your resume and starting to search for your new life outside HON!

Yes, this information came from the package given to me with a list of ages, positions and locations.

I wasn't aware that Honeywell does group layoffs to avoid the WARN act, so as mentioned by others, the tally could be higher. Also, it doesn't include people outside the US which were also affected.

My experience is the same as the other poster, I was the last to join the group (came from another internal position), others that stayed had been in the role for longer. Managers, directors and many others that could have provided input for a smarter decision were not consulted, so time in the position could have been used in many cases. Technical expertise wasn't weighted at all, at least in my group.

Anyone know what the criteria was for those on the list this round? There were quite a few very experienced technical experts let go. And some were just forced into earlier retirement. The only “fault” I could guess is that they were high-salary band 4’s. Seems technical expertise isn’t really valued anymore when it used to be touted as a differentiator..

I am one of those laid off at DP. I had just moved to the new role less than a year ago and a lot of others had 5 plus experience in role. Last to come first to leave it seems. Tally is more than 250 people from DP and Riverside locations. More than 550 Worldwide.

Almost no managers were affected. From the titles it was somewhere between 4 and 7, and four of those are listed as having taken new positions (internal or external I guess?) before the RIF date.

  1. Des Plaines, IL 136
  2. Shreveport, LA 35
  3. Tulsa, OK 25
  4. Chickasaw, AL 15
  5. McCook, IL 11
  6. Houston, TX 8
  7. Tonawanda, NY 6
  8. Midland, TX 3

9: Baton Rouge, LA 2

  1. Catoosa, OK 1
  2. Acton, MA 1
  3. Columbus, OH 1
  4. Englewood, CO 1

Wow. Almost 150 in Illinois?! Assume that's Des Plaines?

What Honeywell does is group layoffs. Why that person was reporting is the group for reason X

Example UOP could have laid off one group of 200 for COVID and another group of 200 due to reduced business operations

As long as they keep it under 250 in Illinois they don’t need to publicly disclose the numbers per the WARN ACT

Numbers are way too low. There were more than 20 from one Alabama site alone.

10% is too low. every group has about 30% people affected.

Probably a benchmark for other sbg's. Thanks for sharing.
Is that from the package that lists the stats?
