Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Stockholm Syndrome vs Honeywell Syndrome

The Stockholm syndrome is a phenomenon whereby a hostage develops affinity for their captors over time as they are perceived as care providers.

The Honeywell syndrome is an exception to the rule whereby you hate your captors even more at the time you obtain your freedom.

To Just a Friendly Reminder. I signed my employment contract nearly 40 years ago. They have since gutted a lot of what I signed up for. Because of this the plan for my "career" is to get the hell out at year's end if they don't take my voluntary submission first. The company that I loved and worked extra hard for is no more, not since Allied Signal came in.

Just a friendly reminder - We all acknowledged the At-Will-Employment, and signed in the extended offer. Last time I check; US of A is still a very free country.

The question is: Do you have the will to "live free" !!?? or just whining with no plan for your career?

Do Directors & VP know the Cool Aid flavor they're drinking?

Amazing pay is the only thing i could imagine that would warrant 12 hour days like directors and VPs put in... i once heard a vp say something that chilled me to the bone about their work life balance. That person was gone inside of six months.

Must be some good coolaid.

Cringe worthy. Ugh. Yes they s— balls. Like a lousy marriage, if it gets bad enough just... leave. There are other and better people out there. Don't get too much into the habit of talking trash as it doesn't help you be a better person or engineer. Personally? I am biding my time. Soon.

Yea, no. There is no bonus like that at the director level. Or Senior Director. For much as the individual engineers, planners, buyers and others get sh– on the directors and senior directors are getting it exponentially worse. Yea sure they get paid a bit more. But is it worth it?

The rule holds. You just havent graduated yet. Let me know when you get your first director's job and they hold the secret "cool aid" ceremony. Then comes the bonus of 1.5 x salary in return for your immortal soul.
