What is the role of a OAPM? Sorry about New England layoffs of OAPMs. How about store managers?

This brings up something interesting... what is a Visual Captain?
I assume it would be like a Visual Lead, except that most stores didn't have a Visual Lead.
I have a feeling that Visual Captains who were once VMs will basically be expected to do the same job for less money and fewer benefits.
I do wonder if they will elevate some visual associates to Captain, though.
Hourly executive. Was offered severance or accept demotion position. Although the severance was pretty good, over 12 yrs, I decided to continue being employed as who knows what jobs are out there, that severance money wouldn't last but a few months or so. It was a decision I had less than 24 hrs to make. I'm sure if I had a week to think about it, I may have taken the money and ran. I had to think of a lot of things in a quick decision; job search, keep medical insurance, keep PTO, all that stuff. I can always look for another job while employed.
VM offered severance or pay cut and a demotion to Visual Captain whatever that is they couldn’t give me a job description. Had to take the VC, it’s to hard to find a job right now and I need to pay bills.
I’m a VM and was told my new roll was OVM, I wasn’t given the option of severance. I was also told I wouldn’t get an increase for doing more work, when I heard other people in the store got an increase for new rolls. Did this happen to anyone else?
I can see this happening in a store where the store managers are bullies and think everything is their decision by making their own rules. No one speaks up so they get away with it, but for how long?
I am so confused. I heard people were force placed and not given the option of severence at all, that if they said no to the job offered they wouldnt receive anything. Severence or unemployment ... is this true ? It sounds like most of you were given the option to take the role or take the package...

Was a VM for 20 years was offered severance or a demotion with a pay cut and no guarantee of 40 hrs. After years of hard work and missing time with my family and friends this just feels like a slap in the face.

I heard in some stores they offered the ASTS an AST FT colleague position with a pay cut. What a slap in the face!!! I am glad people are taking a package if you can. Get out.

If ASTS and VM are gone who's doing the store manager's job? That's a problem

Most OAPM'S in new england got laid off. No other positions offered
VM no offer got severance .
VM and not given a choice. They just booted me out.
