I am beyond amazed at the expectation that IBM HR will give two hoots about your case. As an ex-IBMer of 16 years I can tell you without any hesitation that the only thing worse than the HR personnel is their policies. I mean some of it is downright bullying. I remember my first job out of IBM and I mentioned something to the attorneys at the new location and their jaws dropped. Yeah! Really!! And that’s not even considering their immigration policies, it’s not even worth talking about those.

From your separation pay, you get withheld 22% federal taxes, 6.2% FICA, 1.45% Medicare, and whatever your state/city/county (as applicable) taxes are.

I've been asking HR for the last week to provide a "statement" that provides details of the payment. First I was told to go to Workday and check. I was like "huh? You realize I was terminated and have no access to Workday, right?". After many emails the answer was: "we will be mailing you a paper document. You should receive it shortly".

From personal experience, IBM HR was and remains one the most incompetent groups in all of Big Blue. They hide behind their "bot" (ask HR) and convoluted systems (almost impossible to find a live agent even when you are an employee - what chance do we have now?) hoping you will give up and go away. PS. I, too, do not trust IBM to have computed the numbers correctly. Waiting for the document to arrive SOON...

Yes, I also received the payment , but not statement paper. They took a lot of taxes out. I end up with 2 month salary. My boyfriend is an attorney and he will check on this for me. If something is not right he will file a lawsuit. You know you can not trust IBM.
