Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell’s UVC Technology

So we commercialized this UVC disinfection technology for airline industry and we don’t know if it works for coronavirus? Mike says that we are not virologists in the interview. So you develop a technology that you claim would help in the current crisis and don’t know if it’s works on coronavirus. And ironically keep using the word “effective”. Honestly, technology development process in Honeywell baffles me!

No virus on the planet can survive a sufficient amount of UV.

Folks, I didn’t post this to slam Honeywell. My only objective was to indicate that we are not thinking holistically about our technology projects and definitely not open to collaboration (a mind-set problem). Based on previous data from other viruses and UVC exposure, one could argue that it would work for SARS-COVID-2 as well. One could also argue against it. BTW, this virus envelop is different from other SARS virus strains in terms of fatty acid and glucose content. There is a smaller company that came with N95 disinfectant technology (for it’s real-use). Somehow they got of this virus strain and validated it for SARS-COVID-2. My question is that we are trying to implement our technology at much bigger scale and more lives will be at risk. Can’t we think about validating this technology by using the right virus strain? Is it too much to ask!

It will work. UVC has been proven to k–l SARS 2, which is almost identical to COVID 19 (plus many other viruses). COVID 19 is just too new to prove it definitively. UVC goes for the k–l by destroying the DNA. Mike should have known this.

Somebody should sue these clowns for false advertisement. If it happened to Listerine for claiming their mouth wash was as good as flossing without proof of course, it can happen to Honeywell.

Maybe it works.. maybe not.
Maybe it will be selling beer with a keg in the bottom someday.
Who cares as long as it sells

Too bad honeywell couldn't find a cure for stupidity; then they could use it on themselves in the ALT.
