I love the rumors with no substantiation. Fake news.

I'm sure there's a layoff coming, but part of me hopes it's not in Aug. If they do a new round of LR's, they need to quit extending the separation date for those let go in Feb '20. If you're going to keep paying people to not work, why add more people to the free-loading list?

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what Cisco did for those let go back in Feb. I know I'd want the extension if it was me and I was suddenly forced to find new work when companies aren't hiring, companies are furloughing people left and right, etc.

I heard around 8000 overall, 5000 of those in US. No way to verify. But it is clear a substantial cut is coming.

Today my Indian management in SPBU tells us that there will be no layoff in August. All the rumors in this site are baseless.

Linked In–make your job title and description all about others who may want to contact you to conduct business in your current role at Cisco. Nothing about "open to new opportunities" or your overall career qualifications to entice a recruiter. It should be about your Cisco role only, and enticing people to reach out to you to conduct that business.

I have seen so many burned by their own laziness and stupidity of managing their LinkedIn profile. Don't let it be you as the layoff list is being created for this round.

HR intern asked me if I visit this site. I said I have no clue what she's talking about and that I have never heard of this site.

Smart answer, but who really talks to HR? And since when did Cisco get HR interns? Sounds like a potential lawsuit to hire college age kids to work in HR and handle sensitive personal employee info. Besides, college interns have zero experience with how business industry works and are a poor choice for dealing with HR issues unless all they do is open cases so someone else can handle them.

Seen an increase on how many profiles views you’re getting on LinkedIn? Always a sure sign...

Well, the signs are there. We’ve noticed that the patent system CPOL, is being increasingly locked down starting from 1-Aug and there are also increasing no-go zones in Cisco docs. This always happens when there is a mass lay-off coming, as they want to make sure as little IP as possible walks out the door with the ex-employees.
Pity they don’t realize that the most valuable IP is in their brains.

There is no better time.....to not be an over 45 year old white guy at Cisco in the US.

Unless you're a member of the ELT or the CEO.

When are companies going to learn that there is value in employees over age 45? Regardless of s-x or race. Why does Cisco hire contractors who are over 45, then convert them to employees because they're valuable, but then turn around and let them go in one of the next several LR's?

Probably another 7,000. No information to support that, but roughly a 10% layoff can be sold to the street, given the circumstances and Q4 guidance. Would be surprised if it is larger than that.

August 12, 2020 will be a bloody Wednesday. It will be the LR of LRs. It will be an Armageddon at Cisco. Mama Mia.

Is it going to be the week after end of quarter LR or the day after earnings announcement type of LR?

Will it be an LR that is done to "focus on what the customers tell us they need?"

The Scythe swings hard your Summer of Protest and Days of Reflection are numbered.

Bodies will drop not only from Layoffs but from your irresponsible behavior during the protests.

You made things worse for the world and continued the spread of the disease and will pay for it as bodies drop into the cold of winter.
