Will CVX let me take my vacation during my 2 week notice?

Any insight is appreciated!

You get paid for any unused vacation in your final paycheck. No negotiations unless you are a high PSG. As for the “two week notice” (I.e., you are quitting of your own choice), if you are an ordinary grunt they expect you to WORK through it. If you have access to sensitive information, likely you’ll be shown the door immediately.

Vacation can be “worked” during the warm period or paid out...but it’s the companies choice. Note that after the last lay-off they changed the rules so now you can not accur more than your yearly allotment of vacation days. If you are like me, with more than a years worth of vacation saved because there is no whee to go, you might not get paid for it all when (if) you are let go.

The company cannot force you to burn up your accrued vacation time if you know you are being laid off. They will pay you your unused vacation days in your final paycheck. The company can’t obligate you to take your vacation at a time they specify, even if you were retained as an employee. Always have a quick response in your back pocket in case the topic arises. Tell them you’re purchased out of state or country airline tickets for Christmas and that’s when you’ll be using your vacation days.

It would be up to your boss, but if your leaving the company I suspect you’ll be worthless during that time anyway.
