Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Glassdoor

Those of us who look at Glassdoor know the the positive reviews are mostly shills. Someone mentioned not long ago that HW was able to get identifying information on posters from Glassdoor. Does anyone here know for a fact that this is true? Have you been contacted by an "agent of the company" regarding a review you made on Glassdoor?

Responses only from those with first-hand knowledge, please.

@1bmy is correct. As an example, do a browser search on "Yelp user faces lawsuit over negative review". These review sites, like Yelp and including Glassdoor, receive significant income from the companies that are getting reviewed. They will throw you under the bus in a second it the company has a problem with your review. And yes when you do a review your IP address and your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is exposed to Glassdoor.

Google search "Don’t Review Your Employer on Glassdoor Until You Read This!"

Apparently a federal court ruled that Glassdoor reviewers have no amenity protections. And Glassdoor help center Q/A states the following:
"If someone takes legal action to identify you and they can show that your review violated someone's legal rights, a court won't permit you to remain anonymous. "

Glassdoor has much more information about you (like your email address) than this site, so you are a bit safer posting here.

My old company tried to push the employees to leave a review on Glassdoor and sent us a link. Of course they were trying to push for positive reviews although they were not direct about it. However, never use the link they send because they can trace who sent what at what time on their server. Then be able to determine who said what about the company. If you do leave a Glassdoor review, make sure to do it from home on a personal laptop/computer/etc.

Especially sad are the companies who look at each Glassdoor review and comment on the employee reviews - to intimidate people from leaving negative reviews with that "we are watching you" attitude and make you think they know who you are. It's supposed to be an employee forum and employees should be encouraged to be transparent without any one else from the company looming and making defensive remarks like "oh please reach out and discuss with me your issues..." They try to bully employees even on Glassdoor although it only makes them look bad when they play watchdog.

Unsure how Glassdoor could do that without opening themselves up to litigation

@rzt...which brings us back around to the original question...how does the company know who left a negative (albeit simply honest) review online? Are they tracking us, and if so, how?

When Riffed, you basically agree not to bad mouth Honeywell online or risk your severance. If they wanted to, Honeywell could make a big deal about a negative reviews if their glassdoor star rating drops. But its so artificially high, they likely don't care.

HR pressures brand new hires to leave 5 star reviews, I saw it first hand about a 1/2 dozen times.

I left a negative review on Glassdoor and was never contacted. However, to be fair, I did list the name of the organization I was criticizing and I do think leadership knew who wrote it. No repercussions, but it didn’t matter anyway because I realized pretty early on what a c-ap company Honeywell is and knew I would be leaving, which I have since done.

I do recall leadership asking new hires to “spread the word” that Honeywell was a good place to work.

Please read this expose of Glassdoor published in the Wall Street Journal -

Many of the worst employers I have experienced have used bootlickers and shills to post fake, heavily scripted reviews on that site, none of which were removed.

At the end of the onboarding process we were asked to write a Glassdoor review. Naturally people who just joined the company would tend to write something positive. I had worked other places and knew that their onboarding process was garbage, so I wrote something that looked positive but really said nothing.

No repercussions that I'm aware of.

I left a fair and negative review and nobody ever contacted me. I don't think it's true about repercussions. The positive reviews there are probably from new people that didn't work long enough to experience the negatives. Some regions are more positive than others so keep that in mind as well.

Would also like to hear from those who left a negative review on Glassdoor and never experienced any repercussions.
