Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Are employees who EOI required to post for jobs?

I am strongly considering EOI. Am I required to post for jobs if I EOI? Assuming I don’t have to post but the company does not accept my EOI, then am I at risk of being placed in a job that I did not want nor post?

Not trying to be rude but I’m trying to figure out why people don’t read the website? ALL the questions on this site being asked are there! Do your research. Geez!

No, this is the hallmark of the enhanced severance program: you do not need to post for jobs if opting for EOI. In the past, if you are not eligible for retirement, then the only way to get severance is to be left standing which takes work and PITA to prepare. Now you can just receive severance without joining the circuses.
Yes, there is a risk of CVX making a claim that they "NEED" your skillset to manage current business. This really applies to 1% of the population of SME's. This is the season to quit CVX and get a leaving bonus while you do it! Good luck!!

from my understanding, cvx will do their best to honor your eoi. If they don’t accept it, then you will have the opportunity to post
