Shredded My Seniority Awards Today

Couple signed by Pete, one signed by that other guy. Nothing of value was lost. Now I can occupy the chintzy acrylic holders with something I actually care about.

Agree...well put!
For years, it’s like I had my personal jet. Everywhere I had to travel for work, I made sure I did my own thing during, when done with my responsibilities of course ;-)
Little by little, planted roots and years later when they tried to eff me over guess who didn’t mind and was good to go?
Don’t ask what you can do for them...ask what can you do for yourself

We all should have collected every one of our service awards and mailed them directly to Clay Williams with a photograph of a hand flipping him off!!!

My advice: Do not get too cozy with your employer, they are not your family despite what they say. Many people have been laid off and they just can't believe it could happen to them after everything they have done for the company and the length of time they have worked there. With companies like this one and especially since that little elf took over and it went to $h*t,...you have to use them to your advantage. Meaning work as little as possible and network as much as possible. Of course be successful or learn as much as your can because ultimately your time will end there but you will take that experience with you to someone that actually cares. So expense what you can, moonlight wherever you can and just use these ungrateful baSt#rds as much as your can because the most important thing is you and your family....to them you are just a number.

The last comment about the thickness of paper says it all, it’s buttwipe paper thin. I burnt mine in a pot and flushed the ashes down the c-apper it was amazing the depth of sheer joy that’s brought me. I have also given my collection of NOV baseball caps and jackets to goodwill. I enjoyed working at NOV for 15 odd years but the last 4 were very negative and undemanding due to the high percentile of a–holes in VP and director positions who care more about their position than the company and staff

These “awards” are only paying lip service to their employees contribution.

The thickness of the paper it’s written on is the true depth of their appreciation for your service.

I plan to leave all 3 in my office when it happens. At one point I took all my NOV stuff home but I then realized after this I don’t want anything with NOV on it.

Good for u. I simply turned down both holders and awards when they handed me over my personal belongs. I sensed something weeks earlier, so I had taken all my valuable books home a head of time. So basically my personal belongs were my hard toe shoes and mugs.
