Complete surprise. Supervisor added multiple additional improvement items to my PDS that were never discussed. When asked how I got here from the first PDS review, supervisor said that NSI bucket has strengths as well!

Not informed of any needs for improvement. Told that always gets work done on time but has trouble building meaningful “managerial’ relationships.
Requested PIP when given option. Told that I was changed to resign only 5 days later (Super Classy).

Was told technical work was in the top third, but attitude put me in the bottom 8%. Reminded me of the moment in the musical Chorus Line where a woman tells the story of how she once swiped her evaluation card after an audition and it said, "Dance - 10, Looks - 3"; and then she sings a humorous song about how she then went and got plastic surgery and it changed her life.

Recommendations to protect YOU:
- Consult an attorney to review the paperwork provided to you
- If any broad or vague areas in agreement, work with boss and/or HR to try to get additional detail incorporated into the agreement (it is possible)
- Take the full seven days to decide
- Confirm with boss on what date you will be relieved of all your duties AHEAD OF TIME (assuming you sign on 7th day)

For those with fewer years, did you not receive the PIP option? What’s the difference between choosing severance or retiring?

Was everyone only given “two” options? (I.e. I was given the option to sever or retire...I’m a second year employee). Did anyone try to negotiate the terms and did anyone have luck doing so? I was blindsided by this.

Unles EM likes to save a pension from a handful of personnel vs entire corporation, it's doing a losy job on lettiing people go. If it really wanted to save money, there would be more let go by now. Only the best is getting EM pension.

I heard that some employees within a few years of retirement eligibility ( 55+ years old with combined EM / XTO service of 12-13 years) were awarded the 2-3 years needed to be considered a retiree rather than a terminee and therefor eligible to lump sum out of their pension. Can anyone confirm that this has been presented as an option. Thank you.
