Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Laid off 7/1 - severance? Did you get anything to sign?

The only doc that I received was an email from Oracle HR exit about retrieving my personal belongings. Did anyone else get anything else to sign? My ex-manager said I'd get the standard 4 weeks + a year for every year I was there. I capped out at 26 weeks. Does anyone know when and how the severance pays out? Oh, and a fedex box today to return the laptops.

I received my letter via email as well and thought the same, that this is a duplicate of what they already gave me but it is in DocuSign. After further reading, there are a few extra things in it. You have to sign and agree not to the confidential contents as well as giving away your rights to file lawsuit for any matters as well as age discrimination otherwise, no severance pay. They have to attach who all got laid off with ages. Before you sign, make sure you open the 40+ page attachment within the DocuSign. It will list all the positions that were eliminated with the age of each.

I was laid off on 7/1. The email I got that day said I’d be getting an exit email on my last day. That happened on 7/15. I read it and signed it. That same day, I got a notice from FedEx I’d be getting a package in 2 days. It was the box for the laptop. I put the laptop in it that day and sent it back to Oracle Saturday.
The reason why they ask about your age is there’s a law that they have to give anyone 50 or over additional time to think about the package and an additional time to revoke the signed contract. So, it’s likely we had a different exit contract than others.
At least I got laid off on 7/15. So, the little remaining stock I had for this year vested.

I was also laid off on 7/1. As part of the phone call with my manager when he read the script that he was forced to read, he also sent me an email that contained a DocuSign link where I had to provide my personal email address. That email had an attachment called "Reduction in Force Separation Packet
What you need to know as you exit from Oracle". READ IT !!! It contains generic information (like a FAQ) that gives important information concerning your severance, when you will get it, COBRA, etc, etc. Read it again, it is not written in user friendly language.
I got an email today (July 15, technically my last day as an employee) at my personal email address from Oracle HR Exit Team again with a DocuSign link that had 2 documents - one looked just like the document that I got in the email on July 1 until you scroll down further and can see that there is more information, and a second document containing information on how to turn in your Oracle-owned assets. The gist of both the July 1 and July 15 documents is that we will supposedly receive an email "no later than 4 days after your termination date" (July 15) containing the Termination Agreement that needs to be signed (DocuSigned) and returned in order to get your severance.
Couple of other points * Email during the RIF phone call was used instead of FedEx to deliver the "package" in the 7/1 RIF so using the FedEx notification for a heads up did not work in this case * from what I can remember from the layoff phone call and the script that was read to me, I was told that part of the reason for this layoff was to eliminate remote workers (I have always worked exclusively from home even before this pandemic) and consolidate workers into offices * and finally, I don't know the scope of this RIF but everyone that I know that was whacked was older (55+) and had 20+ years in.
Hope that helps to answer some questions.

By any chance were those who did not receive their fed-ex package get paid through July 15th? That would be a reason that the severance package has not been delivered: technically you are still an employee.

I received an email today from HR to sign the exit document. It also said the FedEx package would be coming

There should have been a FedEx package delivered to you explaining everything the day after the letter got to you from HR. At least that's what happened when I was laid off a couple of years ago. In fact, I knew I was getting laid off before they told me. I logged into the FedEx delivery manager and saw that I had a shipment coming from HQ. Contact HR, your severance documents may have gone astray.

I was laid off too on 7/1 and haven't seen any paperwork yet. I did receive my FedEX box last Thursday for my laptop.

I called to ask about it. Her first question was not my name or anything else. It was "how old are you?". How old am I???????? Red flag being investigated.
