Anyone receive the Severance Package Paperwork?

I was part of the RIF that occurred on 05/18/2020 and have yet to receive the paperwork that needs to be signed and returned prior to receiving the severance payout. How long does this usually take through snail mail?

@TiredDirector You did everyone a favor, and anyone who has been in your shoes (I was once) knows that there were (and still are) a few managers and directors (and even a VP or two) who actually cared about their teams and tried to protect and give growth opportunities to as many as possible while we were there. After too many years of fighting the battle, I left. It wasn't worth it anymore. Best of luck to those who remain. My hope for you is a speedy exit on your own terms.

@Tired Director

The UPS account number is accurate. I shipped mine on Friday using it. You have to go to a UPS distribution center and not one of the small UPS stores. I originally went to a store and they told me that I couldn’t use the account number unless I go to a distribution center which happened to be nearby.

BTW I am the person that told everyone 2 days prior to RIF week what was going down while some of you said it was impossible to do it so soon. Good luck getting accurate information going forward.

Sign up for a UPS account and add a payment method and then you can assign HON account instead of your payment method. I had a UPS account but had not been used for a number of years. Called UPS customer support to figure it out and was able to use HON account to send the documents.

I finally received the package, and thanks for the heads up on the UPS number not working so I can be prepared to pay.

I had to pay to return my package. The UPS charge code sent with the package doesn't work.

I received my package today. The instructions state that ONLY 2 specific pages should be written on by the employee, or else the package may be rejected and therefore the severance might be discounted. However there are clearly 3 pages within the package that request a written response by the employee. WTF?

They send it snail mail so that you can’t come back and claim you didn’t have enough time to read it. They are most worried about you filing suit under the ADEA and/or the civil rights act alleging discrimination based off s-x,race,nat origin. Don’t sign the agreement. Take it to an attorney - they’ll charge a small fee to meet with you, but then they’ll send a demand letter requesting at least 3x what you were offered for severance pay. At that point, Honeysmell will settle with you. If not, the law firms that do work for corporate giants are called and they are happy to defend a suit for Honeysmell to the tune of 5000 retainer and 600/hr. A Harvard law associate racks those hours up quick. The total spend for Honeysmell grows by the minute, literally. If they lose, they have to pay their attorneys fees AND yours. Trust me, they won’t mess with it. Easier to write a check and move on. Aside from the cost they also have to retain documents internally and go through ma g hoops and ladders to prepare for litigation. They fold like the bi!?;es they are.

So why don’t they just send it to everyone via e-mail, electronic signatures are easy enough to do. I should know better, since that would be way to easy and help those of us who were let go.

It took HON HR over 10 days to send my package which ended up being a package for someone else with a similar name. I was livid and they eventually just sent it to me via email.
