Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Love how LT try and soften the blow but miss the mark

"support each other"
"we are in this together"
"tips to deal with uncertainty"
"unprecedented times"

Thanks for changing my outlook by 0%. I'd much rather they stfu on that front, update on how they are progressing to their scheduled outcome and let us know the outcome when that day comes.

Americans... do these messages resonate with you?

Lol, BP says the EXACT same platitudes. They must have hired the same firm to manage their “organizational development” 😂

Thanks OP for the short list of examples the Leadership Team (opinion of leadership may vary) like to put out there to soften the blow of impending reality on the masses. Especially the term “unprecedented times“. To my recollection, those unprecedented times hit me in 2016. I guess the LT is saying there will another round of unprecedented times coming again soon. You really have to laugh at these people. They have their jobs locked in and they really want you to think they care about yours.

We’re all “One Team”! Now let’s all post on Workplace how we appreciate everything leaders are doing and all the transparency, because that will save you from being axed!

It’s interesting that those words are coming from the leadership team. I hear no such thing from front line supervisors. They are all scrambling right now trying to save their own butts. They know that hurricane is bearing down on them. I don’t think I have heard one how are you doing from them. Not that I want them too.

Based on the above comments, it would appear that "leadership" hasn't changed much, in the 7 years since I retired. Still clueless, gutless, incompetent, and focused on Old Numero UNO!

The 'tips for being laid off' was a special treat. Not sure who they hoped to help with that one, and the questions that were sure to make an already anxious person feel even more stressed out. What they need from all of us is to focus on the work and deliver results... it would be nice if they set an example to that end by offering meaningful information in a timely manner. There will be plently of time for Zen introspection if you are laid off on the couch; until then, spare us the BS.

How about the worst one “we heard you”, like “WE” asked for this! It’s so transparent and laughable. 🤮

I’ve got pretty much three bosses right now. Only one is effective. The others just add work because they need to get their stink on everything making everything just a little more c-appy.

Agreed. Quit talking all this feelings bs. Get to work on getting rid of supervisor jobs to increase span. These people create the low value work leadership has been talking about for years.
