Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Anybody else disappointed they were not laid off?

I don't want to minimize what so many people have gone through in the past few weeks, but I have to admit I am sorry my name was not on that list. I am tired of this place. I am tired of all the nepotism, all the bullying by managers, and the overall hostile work environment.

Being laid off would have been a blessing. Am I the only one who feels this way?

More crying self entitled brats. You’re not entitled to jack. If you can’t make it, take your c-appy attitude to some company that caters to snow flakes. Maybe they can help change your for you diapers too. Boo-ooh.

If you're so disgusted, take your self-righteous a$$ elsewhere. Honeywell has the same bull$h1t mentality that people should just be happy to be employed. That attitude is the root cause of what is systemically wrong with the culture at Honeywell. People are a company's greatest asset, not it's greatest liability. Until the greedy fools that run Honeywell realize it, they will always be in last place with customers and industry.

Hahahaha our manager is complaining now that things either aren't getting done or are getting done much slower than before the RIF. No sh*t, that's what happens when you lay off 20% of the company, a$$wipe. I refuse to work any harder or longer than I did before, I'm just not doing it. I will not absorb the extra workload so these j–koffs can enjoy the benefits of the layoffs. If they don't like it they can RIF me too.

I was somewhat disappointed. Especially since I put in for the voluntary and was turned down.

You always have the option to quit if you hate Honeywell so badly. No one is forcing you to work for this company. What a bunch of self-entitled cry babies. It’s a job. Be thankful you have one. If you have the audacity to complain about NOT being laid-off, do everybody a favor and quit. Deal with it or leave. I thought the complaining during the RIF was bad, but this is really just pathetic.

@1ptp+15csFsZC – you say dont whine there are people who would trade with you, that is exactly the point isnt it. We arent allowed to trade. Why not? No regulation around voluntaries. No fake rules about not discriminating ( fatties go first, its legal ). The activity on this forum is not a symptom of layoffs. It is a symptom of failure by leadership to generate a team.

I know exactly how you feel
It’s happening right across all of the LPB,s
They only either make a person redundant by their choice
Very Toxic environment ESPECIALLY in Perth

1ptp - There were many employees that were ready to leave and self nominated only to be turned down by Honeywell which meant someone who wasn't ready to move on to something else was let go. Would have been nice for the volunteers to not be denied. Even if a "critical" group had people leave, Hon can move people around, but chose not to. I personally know subject matter experts that were pretty much single point failures, and hard workers that were RIF'd and did not volunteer. I know lots that knew a lot less and did a lot less that were not RIF'd. The RIF seemed to be done by people who did not know who was getting RIF - first line managers were not involved. I am one who is ready to go.

I agree that things are not good at Honeywell but for me i’m Happy to have a paycheck to support my family in today’s environment...at least until something better comes along. Wishing you were laid off in this forum is crazy, There are many folks that were laid off that would gladly trade with you.

ipl, you don’t have to wait. We have lost 3 engineers already since this pandemic. And 2 right before it started.

The years of bad management have done a lot of damage. There is zero reason for anyone to want to stay. Just about any other job at this point is a better job.

Sad. Used to be a decent place to work.

I wish I got let go. I was told I needed to absorb the workload of my coworkers who were let go. Oh, gee, thanks. I was waiting for a chance to work two or three full time jobs while receiving no raise for the next two years. Thanks for this opportunity, honeyhell. As soon as the market picks up I am out of here along with everyone else with a brain left in this sh*thole company

OP: It's been almost three years ago that I left on a voluntary RIF the second time I put in for it. I didn't get it the first time after being told by my director that our group wasn't being "targeted" in that RIF. I had prepared myself emotionally after 38 years of service to leave and move on into retirement. Yes I was very dissapointed I didn't get it.

Move on about three months later and another RIF announcement was released and I applied for a voluntary RIF again. I was approved the second time and left with my six month severance. I enjoyed my 37 year engineering career at Honeywell as far as the job was concerned and left being proud of what I accomplished. I had already decided I would leave anyway if I didn't get it the second time.

As the late great Yogi Berra stated, ""It ain't over till it's over."
