Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Is San Franciso tech office closure completed? Since no new space in mid-town Atlanta, where are those 600+ jobs going? J C? Enough space?

All the laid off SF people were supposed to be replaced by local hires in Atlanta to occupy the new building in the city midtown. But that building lease got cancelled. Also they are closing down another building in JC area, so going from 4 planned down to 2 buildings. No way they can have the same number of people as before with new social distancing requirements. I see a lot of layoffs incoming for JC.

Naveen closed a Ohio location that cost next to nothing. It was a a company owned building that cost next to nothing. Lorain provided so much, and in return we were shut down. Macys is worse off for it.

CTO NK is a visionary – he closed various high cost location. That was right call to make.

CTO NK is an arsehole. He still believes having physical stores is going to work.

No way are they adding 600 jobs now. They’ll hire offshore contractors who will run the company in to the ground. After the last round of Polaris layoffs there are almost no FTE’s left who know any stores applications. When things reopen, they’re in trouble.

Has Macy's.com sign come down from 680 Folsom building? It was a great scam for nearly 1000 people – good fun while it lasted. CTO NK is true leader.
