Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

SJV 2020 transformation fail and LT failures

How about the LT being accountable for the screw ups and be left standing. All the preaching they do like they make right decisions and the changes need to happen below them. That’s right I am calling out Al Williams for his bad resume that includes his days in pipeline where he drove that bad results there and in SJV where he misled SJV 2020 transformation where he slogan that layoffs will happen and set the BU for any cost environment only to be rewarded to Perth and now SJV will have again job cuts. Good luck Perth. How about Jay Johnson and Geagea overrunning MCP after MCP and these jokers still are in the top management delivering messages to the lower management of what needs to be done. I’ll even throw in Mike Worthless for being ultimately responsible for letting these bums still in their positions and not setting an example to getting rid of them. If so that would show the employees he means business and shows accountability. How do you preach reduction when the top layer stays the same and titles change?? Let’s hope the shareholders voted to kick Mike Wirthless out and clean house on the top.

OP, I don’t actually expect much of a reduction at SJV this time around. Each of the BU had to be in scope. That doesn’t mean they will all have the same position reduction percentage.

Al’s second mistake was keeping the same L3s around who had deep-rooted bad leadership styles leftover from 2013. Hear me out: imagine if the BU cut 50%, flushed out the old L3s, promoted visionary L4s, and enabled people to do work. There wouldn’t be time for vetting, snaking, posturing, empire-building, sniveling, or emotion-run business.

I agree with OP. Executives keep self-promoting their inner circle despite a trail of failures. I wish somebody had the fortitude to post a comment like this on Workplace instead of the usual “you’re a beacon of light, MW. Love you so much!! Xoxo”

Funny that you mentioned MCPs, just look at the CTC announcement a couple of months ago that Craig and Roy (both facility engineers responsible for MCP failures) will retire NEXT February so that they can collect one more year's stock awards!

Only mistake Al made was to not cut deep enough
