Locations reopening

Why are they beginning to reopen HLE locations that were temporarily closed when people are trying to say part of the plan is to close them all down?

Not desperate at all. I won't say which region I'm from but we were number 3 as far as the top 50 branches for the year. Managing a location is easy. This job is easy. I was making 58 k without the bonuses from raises due to performance. Easy peasy, son!

Crazy to want to work 60+ hrs a week again for no bonus! Its not like the old days when you had staff and you could leave for the day on "sales calls" and hang out,. You will be stuck in the branch dealing with crazy customers. And even worse you will be delivering balloons for Party City! No thanks!

Culver City might reopen Thursday. It will be one employee and the BM. 40 hour week for full salary as a BM? And a car? Hell yes.

HLE locations have a shot with the insurance rentals. But that will barely cover the bills. Look for salaried staff to work 12 hr days to cover. Promise of promotion not too enticing now.

That's why they're taking their time with the plan. They are hoping business picks up in 3 months. Then they won't have to admit Hertz is dead.

How exactly are they going to make money when it’s not going to be busy?

Because Hertz has 6 months to present its restructure plan. In the meantime they can manage the company as they please. So by opening some locations they are hoping to make money while they come up with a plan. 6 months is the legal time limit Hertz has to comply with the bankruptcy filing which requires the restructure plan. More than likely HLE is dead man walking. Hertz will most likely go AP only. Once creditors decide Hertz fate that is.
