Bammel Layoffs

Does anyone know whether another round of layoffs is coming and if so, do you have a date? My wife and I were in the process of buying a home when I heard rumors that another layoff will hit Bammel this month and I’d rather wait to see how it shakes out.

Housing market won't crash that fast with lenders allowing borrowers to push current payments that can't be made to the end of the mortgage term.

Bad time to buy a house. The market has been crashing. More Unemployment leads to more defaults. Not to mention, the "work from home" wave made employers and businesses rethink about renting office spaces. Office spaces and business lots are going empty. Movie theaters like AMC are in the brink. O&G crash will impact Houston even more.

I would hold off whether you are getting laid off or not. According to real estate experts there will be a large number of foreclosures in the next 6 months due to COVID businesses and their employees, not to mention regular market adjustment was due anyway.

So, there will be a large supply with smaller demand (more people out of work) and your prices are likely to be 10-15% less.

I'd hold off, not only are more layoffs very likely but I would also expect a collapse in housing prices in the not too distant future. In the meantime get proactive and start looking for a more stable job. Rgds

Find a new job, then but the house. Don't wait to be laid off. If you were laid off in March or April, you were lucky as you can have 600$ extra every week. But if you are laid off after July, 31st or a month before, 600$ will not last long or you even can't get that.
