Black lives matter!!

Why is Chevron’s executive stance so weak? Are they scared some of those racist employees will EOI?

In many cases Chevron managers are just complete id–ts. Sad but true.

Businesses should be primarily concerned with financial success. The race of any given employee should be no more relevant than their shoe size. Promote the capable and qualified. Opportunity should be open to those who deserve the chance to prove their abilities to lead and grow their role. I don't know many truly racist people but I am sure some exist. Chevron may have its faults and no organization is perfect. But this company does a good deal more than many others I have worked for. We can do better, but don't fail to recognize how good things are at this time in general.

Just announced that every employee will be given a “woke” score to aid in job selection. All safety equipment will be defunded.

The kind of Black Lives Matter people who are making all the noise and inciting violence don’t matter at all. Just more election fodder from the far left. If you are one of those who are swayed by all this, you are nothing less than herded sheep and useful id–ts for the Dems.

Ahh, OP must be another troll looking to create more chaos and anger in a high stress pre-layoff environment.

It’s hard to take the BLM rhetoric serious when all you hear from BLM is crickets on the weekly gun shootings and murder in Chicago.

They talk about diversity more then we talk about the production of O&G which is what we do.

Seriously?!!!! They’ve said through this reduction, they’ve employed an outside “Inclusion Counselor”, they’ve said repeatedly they want the new organization to “look” diverse. That tells me they are putting more of a priority on it than ever! So yes!! Chevron does care about it. (Insert eye roll)

Diversity and Inclusion at its core value is a just cause. But if you have eyes to see and you look around at what is going on in our society (not Chevron), the majority of actions are anything but people making an earnest effort for a just cause. The change good people seek will never come via a political or corporate progress initiate, at least not in the manner that we hope for.

Don't be fooled by the daily fake news reports, the constant stream of falsehoods, false promises and the false narrative we are being sold. Most of the energy behind this is not about equality, its pushing for a radical new socialist agenda which is merely another false ideal, that will benefit no one and no race in the end. There are forces out there with very dark aims.

Lawlessness leads to mass suffering at the hands of those who promise unity, offer a brighter tomorrow but who's solutions are short-lived, unsustainable, ineffective and often a simply a thin veil of change. Soon they will leave the people to struggle to eek out a meager life, while they retreat to enjoy the spoils of their position and glare at mass suffering. The entire population will be trampled, by the successors of a grand scheme of control instituted via camouflage, subterfuge, and subversion aided by the naive, the victimized, the dependent, and those who would be coddled. This is a transition point in society and much significance lies in its outcome.

The future society we are rushing towards will be a time of lack, austerity and poverty for all races. It will be a world truly of the haves and have-nots. You think the current level of income equality is bad now? Just wait and see. Those who have real power are not elected. Their strategies are measured in generational timelines, not 4-year election cycles. Think I am wrong? Check back in 25 years and see what has become of it all.

That's so dumb. You want them to put it on their corporate page? We have a c-level position just for diversity. Workplace is covered in it, complete with responses from our CEO. Every town hall talks about it. I've heard numerous OE moments about it this week. It's literally all people are talking about yet somehow Chevron is this racist boogeyman?? It's stuff like this (and ACAB) that is turning people away from the cause.

Look at Amazon front page! They are speaking about black lives matters right there. Chevron is scared to even say the words “black lives matter”

It’s not about being political. It’s about acknowledging the racism in this country and this company. The black men and women in this country are also tired of people like you that take your privilege for granted. It wouldn’t matter what color if we are all treated equality but WE ARE NOT!! So until we make major changes, we need to keep talking and supporting this issue.0

Chevron always gets extremely high marks for D&I...this post is weird. If anything, I think they put too much emphasis on it. I'm wondering what, if anything, would make OP happy...

??? I am getting tired of this. 75% of the call yesterday with the CEO was on diversity, women in jobs, etc. feels to me that the more this is pushed, the more diversity metrics are set, the less equal we are. Best person for the job should be the motto, thats it. Does not matter if you are yellow, green, woman or whatever. We are in the business of providing safe, reliable and cheap energy to the world. OP do you want this to be more political?
