Global Alliances definitely is a terrible org......have to agree with that! I worked for them. My boss was informed his position would be cut (prior to the cuts) so that he could cut someone on his team and move into that job. The person he chose was me - after account reviews showing I had $32mil in projects to work on in upcoming year. Yea for me.......I lost my job. That team is all about maintaining their jobs, NOT about doing the right things for clients and for the company long-term. They have NO impact on bringing in revenues from clients. Let's hope that they are cut – and not the front-line sales teams.
1 week severance for each year, 2 months pay, 2 months out placement assistance (which is total bs), 2 months paid med/dental, etc.
To the person let go 6 weeks ago and 'happy with the money' can you confirm the severance package provided so the rest of us know?

They do not care, if revenue coming in is not exceeding their expectations they will cut people. Global Alliances is a c-ap organization within Dell. Their managers have no clue how to manage, they lead by fear and intimidation, and when they cut you they tell you it was HR. BS, they pulled your name not HR, they cannot even take responsibility. I hope everyone especially the managers are cut in GA, lousy group to work for.

Yes not just if Q2 tanks but according to TS's comment we don't know what's on the cards for entire fiscal year, so layoffs could be in phased approach over next 2 quarters. My bet is 10% - 14% from each team or under each level 2 manager.

Wonder if they'll start mid-quarter..as in this month..once we get a sense of what things are going to look like, or if they wait until after Q2 results are official.
